Today, everyone lives in a competitive society. A person with an attractive appearance is more likely to get a job at a company than those who are experienced and graduated at a higher level of education (Chiara, 2014). First impression is very important because people will judge others just by taking a quick glance at them and the first impression of them will be made (Tracy, 2013). Many studies have shown that those who have an attractive appearance are recognized as more intelligent, more honest, more successful, and more talented. Firstly, anesthesia is regularly used in cosmetic surgery and also other surgeries. It is used to make parts of the body to be numb so that the patient would not feel pain during the surgery is conducting. There are some risks of anesthesia use like respiratory failure, allergic reactions, coma or even death. Many people have thought that anesthesia would not raise any problems but complications can happen sometimes (Hagy, n.d.). For people who smoke, consume steroids or have certain vascular conditions has a higher chance to have complications after the surgery. Even though complications due to use of anesthesia are very rare, but this can prevent by sharing their medical history with the surgeon. Also, nerve damage caused by anesthesua also can occur and lead to muscle paralysis (International Business Times, 2012). However, cosmetic surgery improves health of a person. Liposuction is generally considered a type of cosmetic surgery because it is most often carried out to improve a person's appearance, rather than their health. It is a type of surgical technique that is used to remove excess fat from deposits located between the skin and muscle (Liposuction.com, n.d.). But still, there is some medical conditions that can be treated with liposuction include lymphoedema where fluid accumulates in body tissue. This causes swelling, numbness, discomfort, and sometimes infection. Gynaecomastia cause by hormone imbalance or some types of medication and fatty swellings develop under a man’s nipple (Nhs.uk, 2013). These problems can be solved by doing breast reduction (Ienhance, n.d.). The surgery is done by removing some of the tissue and skin from the breasts and reduce the size of the breasts (Webmd,
Beauty can be defined in different ways: Beauty describes how anything in perspective like a face, an object, an action is adorable or pleasant. Beauty also refers to the person’s character, personality, or intellect. This topic of beauty affects all because in today’s culture, society judges appearances independently and seems to completely ignore what is portrayed inside of the person. In the essay, “A Woman’s Beauty: Put Down or Power Source?” Susan Sontag explains that for women, beauty is an occupation that they have to keep to maintain their financial situation.

People are getting judged off of their looks and are not getting jobs for it. Judging people based on their appearance is wrong and something needs to be done about it. Discriminating people based on their look is horrible and is often overlooked in many situations in the workforce. People in today’s world need a job to be able to pay for supplies they need. Since there is discrimination when applying for jobs, most people do not get the chance to work.
There are several varied reasons that folks have for undergoing liposuction. Looking pretty usually tops on the list, but there are other reasons too. Improving self-confidence, increasing self-image, eliminating superfluous weight after dieting and pregnancy; these are all the mixed reasons that individuals have for liposuction. Some patients may even have liposuction to aid with obesity-related maladies. Remember that liposuction is not a substitute of workout and dieting.
One of the categories in being the ideal woman is being conventionally beautiful because, according to the media, a significant portion of a woman’s self-worth rests in appearance. This can be seen through women’s magazines in particular, which promote altering one’s appearance leads to the significant improvement of one’s “love life and relationships, and ultimately, life in general” (Bazzini 199). Therefore, the media presents a direct relationship with beauty and success: the more attractive a woman is, the better her life will be. Thus, a woman must the take initiative to look beautiful in order to be successful. Through the repetitive exposure of the same type of image in the media, what society considers beautiful often resembles a definitive checklist.
A breast enhancement surgeon is often the first person many women consult when concerned with small bust size. These surgeons are out to make money and often push women into deciding that surgery is the only option for them to get the size and shape of breasts that they have been wanting for some time. Elective surgeries are on the rise and it is no wonder why this is true. Many of these surgeries cost thousands of dollars for the surgery alone, not counting the cost of prescription medications that are necessary to ward off infections when healing. Would not it be more convenient if women had more options for increasing breast size that did not involve the risks of surgery?
Reduction mammoplasty (breast reduction surgery) is a plastic surgery procedure designed to reduce breast size. Breast reduction surgery is the perfect solution for women who have extremely large breasts. Excessively large breasts can make a woman feel uncomfortable and/or cause her to experience physical symptoms (i.e., back pain, neck pain and skin irritations, etc.). During a breast reduction procedure, excess glandular tissue, fat and skin is removed: Following removal, the plastic surgeon reshapes the breasts.
There are a lot of different stigmas that circulate tattoos nowadays. A common one being that they are mistakes, directly impacting your ability to get a job. Though they may not be viewed as professional, tattoos should in no means affect your credentials. Issues in the workplace are easily avoided by having tattoos that do not portray nudity, obscenities, or things of other violent natures. Work place attire is generally more strict than a casual tank top and shorts where tattoos may be more visible.
Because hormones and genetic factors can cause gynecomastia, the plastic surgeon may need to refer a patient to an endocrinologist for either (1) blood and urine studies that would show elevated hormone levels or (2) genetic studies that would show the count and other details of the patient’s chromosomes. An abnormal testicular exam will prompt the surgeon to order an ultrasound of the testes. The surgeon may wish to obtain a mammogram to rule out a breast tumor, which, though unlikely, can occur in men especially with asymmetric breast
The importance of beauty has always been pushed, specifically on girls and women, throughout childhood stories and books, TV shows, and movies. The value of beauty is heavily showed through the media. Studies shows that attractive people are often perceived as good and trustworthy, while less attractive people are seen as bad and underhanded. Studies also shows that beautiful people make more money. As author Sheila
Also, when a person approaches another person the first thing someone does is look at someone’s physical traits. Such as someone’s eyes, hair, ethnicity, and body features because they are characteristics of what is described as beauty. Beauty stands on its own and does not have anything interfere in what the actual meaning of beauty is. This is why beauty has no other meaning besides you outer exterior.
Additionally, the perception that beauty is more desirable is cultural and it would require huge societal changes. Tietje and Cresap (2005) believe that “legislation and actions by federal agencies may alleviate some of the burden borne by the unattractive members of society, but the problem may be too deeply rooted in culture and instinct to be eliminated” (p. 31). Although some states have discrimination laws against certain types of biases, physical attractiveness is difficult to define and measure and therefore challenging to
However, an individual’s cultural standards have an influence on their perceptions of beauty. For example, an
