Guns are responsible for almost thirty thousand deaths a year in America a little bit more than half of those deaths are suicides. America has a big problem with guns there are about 280 million to 300 million guns in private hands of americans. Gun shops need to do more background checks and see their mental health that could stop and incident like the gunmen who took thirty two lives at Virginia Tech in 2007. There have been more shootings like this one in various schools around the country.

However, one cannot step out lately without worrying if they would be able to safely return to their homes at the end of the day. There are many things the Federal government and the states are doing to prevent this thing from happening. Such as “many states are banning texting while driving, or using graduated driver licensing systems for teen drivers, to help raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving and to keep it from occurring.”

There have been marches and protests, Super Bowl advertisements, emotional and contentious congressional and state hearings and a new, tough gun-control law. This year alone there has been over 11,000 deaths related to gun violence. Along with those deaths there has been a combined 20,000 injuries.

Indeed, there has tons of sensational shootings that draw an enormous amount of attention in the United States. However, one of the most impressive mass shooting is the Columbine High School Shooting, which was happen on April 20, 1999. This massacre caused the national attention. In this shooting many innocence people died and many families had destroyed.
