It hinders the teachers to be creative and the teaching materials being the same can get boring.

There has been a great magnitude of recent incidents. These incidents have been documented in marching bands, religious cults, schools and other types of clubs. Reports of hazing in high school are greatly rising as well. Hazing is considered to be: physical abuse, hazardous, sexually violating and mental abuse. Hazing “is an extraordinary activity that, when it occurs often enough, becomes perversely ordinary,” (Hawk Nuwer, Wrongs of Passage).
Many impressionable students depend on their test scores to get accepted into their dream school, but what if students lack test taking skills. Should one test really determine it all? Not only are standardized test scores like the SAT a waste of time, but they lack to demonstrate students full academic ability and only shows that a student has good test taking skills. For many students their dream is to one day to get accepted into their dream college. For many this is hard, but it can become even harder if students lack good test taking skills.
However, we realize that people who come across as being intellectual weren’t always labeled as that. The main argument is that perceived throughout the reading is that the schools itself is failing students. They see a student who may not have the greatest test scores or the best grades, and degrade them from the idea of being intellectual. Graff states, “We associate the educated life, the life of the mind, too narrowly and exclusively with subjects and texts that we consider inherently weighty and academic” (Graff 244). Schools need to channel the minds of street smart students and turn their work into something academic.

Another reason studying is inefficient is procrastination. When you procrastinate you’re not retaining much information needed to study. Just simply choosing the wrong environment impacts your studying abilities.
Many teachers fail to differentiate what is important and what is not. To be easy to grade, tests cannot measure higher order thinking. Critical thinking often gets left behind and memorization has taken over. Many students just simply don’t perform well on tests, but with these standards schools are held to it puts alot of stress on teachers who then push it onto their students. There are multiple things that could keep students from excelling in school. One cause of low test scores is the misuse of time in class. There are many students who have trouble with time management. They often struggle to finish their work on time because they’re engaged in conversations or things other than their assignment.
Students are constantly using the internet as a way to communicate, conduct research, and a vast majority of other activities that are made available to them through this convenient resource. However, in many occasions, a student is unable to perform important research due to filters that stand in their way. Not everyone has personal internet resources, and it is important that everyone has access to credible information. Schools should provide unfiltered internet access. Students should be provided with unfiltered internet access because filters do not do an adequate job of filtering.
