Two Friends and The Interlopers Comparison Introduction: The story “The Interlopers” by Saki and “Two Friends” by Guy de Maupassant have a plethora of similarities and differences. Setting: The story "The Interlopers" takes place by the Carpathian Mountains (the mountain range that starts in Slovakia and extends through Poland, Ukraine, and Romania). During “The Interlopers”, the main characters (Ulrich von Gradwitz and Georg Znaeym) that despise each other with all their hearts, are out in a “dark forest”, where a storm is raging on.
