There is need for censorship mostly with children involved examples are sources that promote pornography and intense racism as this will help to curb racial hatred, crimes and international issues. And this will help shape the world into a better place for the people. Censorship of information helps prevent the public from some sensitive topics and subject that are not proper for the society. This restricts them from seeing these topics and subjects thereby protecting the morals of the society. It also helps in the control of violence through stopping the broadcast of happenings that can trigger it.

Censorship though important, it also has its disadvantage. Censorship intrudes upon the freedom of press, individual and group, and the press has the right to provision of information to the public (People who need them). Even though many people are against the internet Shirky reassures that if used correctly and appropriately, then it can become a very useful tool that can “tap our cognitive surplus”. The increased collaboration of technology is important to society for the reason that the internet is full of valuable knowledge that can be claimed very quickly and easily. Increased collaboration is absolutely a benefit.
Censorship can affect everyone in the world in many different ways. In the case of the book “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury, it has a negative effect on the city. The government banishing the books from society is taking away the power of knowledge from the people.
