Through sociological study it has been discovered that human emotions are a key aspect in making a person human, as they provide social bonds to ensure that positive relationships can be established between people. Emotions come naturally to people and adapt based on circumstance and mood. The feelings experienced daily by individuals compel them to make decisions about their lives, both big and small promoting them to take action in the way that best suits their emotional needs (Cherry). Emotions play a crucial role in life as they provide understanding between people and how one another are feeling based on the present situation.

Being stable emotionally is important as it is the ability of a person to remain calm when faced with pressure and stress. There are two types of people, those who are reactive and those who are proactive. Reactive people always blame others for the problems in their life and proactive people take responsibility for the problems that they are experiencing in life. These factors are based on emotional stability, as those who go about life reactively are unstable emotionally compared to the stability of a proactive person. Throughout the week I am engulfed by assignments and tests leaving a small grey area for creating a social life for myself. When the weekends role around I am never around as I have family and close friends back at home that I miss and want to catch up with. Hochschild believe’s that there must be a balance of work and family to fulfill one's emotional work and management. Going to university is much like having a job, you need to manage your time and have work finished by deadlines as well as show up in order to succeed.
