English has emerged as the global phenomenon of all languages. Despite the fact that English is not spoken by the largest number of people, it still has dominated the various fields of the world. International students use English in business, travel, the internet and most importantly in education. Proficient level of English is a must criterion for all students at the university level education. Understanding the fact that not all International students are as competent in English as Anglophone, since they come from a very different environment where English was not their first language. Vocabulary has more of an influence than the students realize on how they communicate. It plays a vital role in prolonging a conversation. Without having the adequate amount of vocabulary in our folds it 's improbable to have a fluent conversation. Though there are several ways to improve the vocabulary but the most empirical way is to Read, to Record and to Review. The secret to building vocabulary is Reading. The students have to practice reading every day because by reading they are exposed to plenty of unknown words which they can cash on. Also, they should concentrate on learning the meaning of the new words in context, as memorizing new English words alone will not suffice. Just because knowing words doesn 't guarantee that they can use it in their conversation as they do not know how the word is used. The next step in the process is to record the new words learned in a notebook, diary or in a phone. While making a record, the students need to write the new word with its definition from a dictionary preferably oxford or Cambridge, and also they should create their own personalized sample sentence of that new word so that it 's relatively simple to remember and follow. Speaking is a practical skill which can’t be developed by reading a book. It has to be practiced, and the more we practice speaking, the more we become comfortable with the language, and the less we will have to translate. While speaking, they need to practice speaking louder as it will help them to build the confidence and forcefully drives them to overcome their shyness. There are many students who feel intimidated to speak in a public forum just because they are too afraid to commit an error. Remember we get better only by making mistakes; it paints a clear picture of their weaknesses that we can work on to eliminate. There are so many ways to improve our speaking such as finding a speaking partner, joining classes, initiating a conversation with friends/peers but the most efficient and convenient one is to speak to our self. There are multiple significant advantages with this trick. By conversing with our self we become more fluent in transacting our thoughts into spoken words. We can do this by self-narrating our actions, for Instance; I am walking to the university; I am eating food, and I am parking my car, and so on. This way we are not relying on anyone or anything, allowing it to do at their convenience. With practice, we shall be able to succeed transacting our thoughts into spoken words thereby eliminating this hurdle of cross-translating from the native
