The Knife Of Never Letting Go is a book about a boy named Todd who lives in a very different world. Todd lives in a small town called Prentisstown where weird things happen. For starters no women are anywhere in the town or nearby. Then there is this odd thing that some would call a germ called noise. This virus makes it so the patrons of Prentisstown can hear everyone’s thoughts. At first glance that seems like it would be nice, you can hear what people think about you or others, but it is the complete opposite. Todd gets tracked down throughout the story by people from his home town because he found a girl who he couldn’t read, he couldn’t get into her mind. The Knife Of Never Letting Go has three characters whom I would consider main. Todd is the protagonist of the story. He is a teenage boy with dirty blonde hair, medium build and a shy person. Todd seems to keep to himself most of the time. Manchee is Todd’s companion. Manchee medium sized dog with a very apologetic attitude and always down for any adventure …show more content…
The theme of this story is that Todd has found someone whom thoughts he can’t read and that mean no good business for the either of them. “It 's a trick Ben taught me to help settle my Noise. You close your eyes and as clearly and calmly as you can you tell yourself who you are, cuz that 's what gets lost in all that Noise.” This quote touches on the subject of “Noise” and what it is and what they do to try to block it out. Todd Manchee and Viola travel to a town where they are not hunted and tracked down by the enemies. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure and an edgy storyline. This book had my emotions in an uproar with it’s constant plot twists and turns. I would recommend this book to anyone who doesn’t mind losing a main character or two, and is okay with feeling drained after the chapters. The book makes you think what our world would be like if we could hear everyone’s thoughts and how we would have to adapt to the new
My thoughts on the book are a bit cloudy, I'm not sure what to think, I don't like nor do I dislike it. It's just not my kind of book and it didn't really catch me as a reader, but I

I went and read several other reviews on this story and the majority said that they loved this book. And another can be also added to that list, myself. I absolutely fell in love with this book. After getting a couple of chapters in, the story really started to pull me in. I would look at the clock and realize that I had been reading for over an hour when it felt like I had been reading for twenty minutes.
Why or why not? Of course I would recommend this this great book because it shows you that everything is not what it is set out to be. Things can turn in an instant for a crime and it shows that it can drive anyone into the floor. The mind of a young child and the various elements surrounding it that can create a huge disaster among many people. The fiction novel, “The Knife of Never Letting Go” by Patrick Ness focuses on a boy named Todd Hewitt and a girl named Viola. Some background knowledge before beginning to explain the main plot is how the story starts off in a dystopian place, named New World. In New World, all women were supposedly killed off ten years earlier during the war. As a result of the Spackles, the aliens the people of New World fought against during the war, a disease known as the Noise, infected all people of New World. This disease basically made it so whatever a man or animal is thinking, will come out, into the open , in either words, pictures, or voices.
Through the eyes of Todd Hewitt, the constant presence of Noise is shown. As well as the exploration of Noise that leads to the thematic significance. The influence of Noise shapes both the narrative and the characters’ personal journeys, impacting the story’s development and the experiences of its characters. The “Noise” is what makes all men hear each other’s thoughts and emotions, as Aaron said “the Noise reveals you.
Throughout this story the characters see and can't see figuratively and literally. Each character come to a gradual understanding of each other and see each truth that is uncovered. In this story each character does and doesn't see or understand each other such as his friends, his family, and also himself. First of all, in this story His friends play a big role. One important friend was Victor.
It 's a jaw-dropping book that will leave you wanting more as the author Laurie writes in a crisp and clear way describing the young girl Melinda’s horrific story and how it unfolds. The author 's tone gives off the vibe of a young frighted girl which I find really enhances this sad, but exhilarating story. This story taught me to always speak up for myself and to never let anyone take advantage of me. I would recommend this novel because it is extremely detailed, painting vivid pictures in your mind that really help to magnify and
The narrator’s eyes are closed and he is being led by a blind man, yet he is able to see. Carver never explains what it is the narrator sees, but there is the sense that he has found a connection and is no longer detached or isolated. The narrator is faced with a stark realization and glimmer of hope. Hope for new views, new life and probably even new identity. Even the narrator’s wife is surprised by the fact that her husband and Robert really get along together.
Knowles makes the vision the reader grasps of every character sharp and in focus. A Separate peace goes in depth to every character to give them a specific identity. Throughout the book Knowles brings up key qualities of each character to make the situation different. As a reader follows the story the identity of the character develops further and further. By doing this the author leaves the reader always wanting
I would recommend this book to any teenage girl who won’t mine wasting tissues for tears and will not mine getting angry at characters. I would recommend this book to a teenage girl because of all of the romance and usually boy aren’t in to those things. If you are up for the challenge, I will recommend this book to you. All I have to say if you decide to read this novel, fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride through a page-turning journey, the loops the author puts you threw from her described word choice and the swift pace you’re put on by the
The narrator begins to change as Robert taught him to see beyond the surface of looking. The narrator feels enlightened and opens up to a new world of vision and imagination. This brief experience has a long lasting effect on the narrator. Being able to shut out everything around us allows an individual the ability to become focused on their relationships, intrapersonal well-being, and
