Wang Mang was known as the greatest tyrant, and for inciting a Civil War, and turning his people against him. Because Wudi created changes that changed China for the better, he deserves more recognition in books than Wang Mang. Wudi ruled from 141 B.C. to 87 B.C., and during his reign he improved China. He expanded the Han dynasty to southern China and Vietnam and later recovered Korea.
Robert Altman’s 1973 film, The Long Goodbye, follows Detective Phillip Marlowe, as portrayed by Elliott Gould, in his effort to disclose the truth behind the alleged death of his friend Terry Lennox (Jim Bouton) and Mrs. Lennox. Straddling the line between paying homage to and satirizing the film noir genre, the only similarities between the leading character of The Long Goodbye and a classic film noir are situational rather than characteristic. While the film’s protagonist is presented with conventions such as a case that is in need of solving, finds himself at odds with the mob, and police force provide no relevant support, beyond circumstantial parallels, Marlowe is presented as the antithesis of the usual, hard-boiled, protagonist of

There where many factors that led China to political unification in contrast to India. One factor is, dynasties such as the Zhou Dynasty who kept the same political system as its predecessors, where India had changed many things and continued to change political and social systems. India was very fragmented in political unification because, India was and still is a land of diversity. Ancient India was also not as organized as Ancient China in ruling. When the Zhou kingdom had started to end and break apart into many powerful states a “relativity young state of Qin located in the original homeland of the Zhou, emerged as a key player in conflicts”(p.
In 246 BCE Prince Zheng ascended to the Qin throne and lead the dynasty to vanquish all enemies and unite China under one ruler, himself, "The First Emperor," for the first time in history. It's debatable whether Emperor Zheng was one of the greats, but he wanted to be as he expressed good morals according to Confucian standards by climbing up five mountains, also known as his, "expeditions." At every mountaintop, Zheng carved his accomplishments on stone and left it there for the world to see. This act supported not only his dynasty, but the Confucianism teachings which believed the role of all great rulers was to lead their subjects in ritual. Heacily influenced by legalist teachings, Emperor Zheng also demonstrated more control over his subjects than previous

The film 13th directed by Ava DuVernay targets an intended audience of the Media and the three branches of the United States government with an emphasis that mass incarceration is an extension of slavery. It is intended to inform viewers about the criminalization of African Americans and the United States prison boom. 13th uses rhetorical devices in its claim to persuade the viewers by using exemplum in the opening seconds of the film. President Barack Obama presents statistics, saying “the United States is home to 5% of the world’s population but is home to 25% of the world’s prisoners.” Also the film uses a hyperbole in talking about the movie Birth of a Nation produced in 1915 which portrays a black man as a violent savage who will kill white women.
Although Qin Shi Huang-Di is sometimes seen as a fantastic leader and unifier, he was also paranoid, oppressive, and tyrannical. For example, he was constantly worried about people who opposed him and about keeping control of his country. When Confucian scholars talked behind his back or criticized him because his administration was built on Legalism, he decided to get rid of them and ordered the arrest and execution of over 400 scholars (Gracie). This dislike of opposition and debate has carried over to the communist party of China today, showing just how much of Qin’s legacy has lasted. Along with the arrest of the scholars, he also used other means to end intellectual opposition.
