he Scarlet Pimpernel is a mystery novel by Baroness Emmuska Orczy that teaches the consequences of having too much pride as well as the fact that people wear masks to cover up who they really are. The author took human nature into account when writing this book because she made the characters realistic in the way that they have flaws. One of these common flaws that the characters shared was the fact that they all wore masks. Percy is the main character in this novel and when you read about him, you get the impression that he's pretty stupid.
Such as his mother. He is intelligent because he makes plans throughout the story to get to the right places. For example, Percy makes plans, like the buses they will take, to get them where they need to be. And since he knows all the possible routes, he also assists Grover and Annabeth along the way. For example, Toward the end of the story Percy, “told Annabeth and Grover how to get back to Half-Blood Hill and let Chiron know what had happened.”

Tangerine, a novel written by Edward Bloor is about a visually impaired boy named Paul Fisher. Paul and his family move from Houston, Texas to Tangerine,Florida. This realistic fiction novel shows you Paul Fisher's everyday life through the eyes of Paul Fisher himself. Consequently Paul was visually impaired at a very young age sadly losing his peripheral vision. Paul never remembered how he lost most of his vision but his parents and family had told him that he starred at a solar eclipse for too long and blinded himself. Throughout the whole story Paul is constantly told that he cannot see well yet he can see more things than people think including his brother Eriks true side.

Percy 's birth into his Hero Cycle occurs when he crosses into Camp Half Blood for the very first time. His subsequent call to adventure is when he consults with the Oracle. During his visit to the Oracle, Percy learns what he must do in order to be successful on his quest. Chiron, also known as Mr. Brunner, assists Percy in his initial preparation for his quest. He makes sure Percy, Annabeth, and Grover all have the things they need in order to be somewhat prepared for what lay ahead for them.
Percy Jackson, the main character in The Lightning Thief ,is following the path of the hero in “Hero’s journey” On Percy’s life a teacher has become his mentor. In the Lightning Thief Percy says “But Mr.Brunner expected me to be as good as everybody else, despite the fact that I have dyslexia and attention deficit disorder and I had never made above a C- in my life” In this quote, percy expresses his feelings on how he is frustrated with himself and his teacher. In hero's journey a quote shows about mentors, “Heroes are almost started on their journey by a character who has mastered the laws of the outside world and come back to bestow this wisdom upon them.” That is how The Lightning Thief is compared to hero's journey.
Percy is a selfless individual and leader making him the light in the darkness. Acceptance, and putting others feelings before his own lies in his leadership. For instance, when the bull attacked Camp Halfblood Percy went into the fight wanting to help save the camp emphasis of the word help. Percy wasn’t fighting to make a proclamation for himself but to work together to defeat the threat. Admission and approval was what Percy was in search of.

Each test prepares Percy for the final battle, his encounter with Ares, where he displays the leadership qualities he has obtained over the course of the novel. Percy is first tested when he encounters the furies on the bus leaving Camp Half Blood. Percy fails a test of his ability to coordinate and communicate. Firstly, he disregards the plan that he, Annabeth and Grover had discussed— “What I did next was so impulsive and dangerous”—jerking the wheel out of the bus driver’s hands (164).
