Is Betty White dead? Some of you may be thinking I’m crazy. This is an actual question that some people struggle with due to the Mandela effect. The Mandela Effect is a conspiracy theory dealing with false memories. According to Fiona Broome, “The “Mandela Effect” is what happens when someone has a clear memory of something that never happened in this reality.” The first explanation is that our brain is just pulling a trick on us. Once we hear others agree, we just go with it. This is much like the placebo effect. Others believe that we are crossing timelines between a parallel universe. Most people are very certain that something is one way, but amazed when proven wrong. One of the first memories discovered was that many believed that Nelson Mandela died in prison, but in fact he died just recently in 2013. This is where the Mandela Effect got its name. Another major debate is about the show, Berenstain Bears. People who grew up watching the show everyday remember it being spelled the Berestein Bears, but it has always been Berenstain Bears. The Mandela effect has even been changing things recently. One user states, “I can remember an event less than five years ago.” The effect ranges from restaurants to major news events to celebrities. Ever heard of the Lindbergh baby? Charles Lindbergh was kidnapped from his home when he was only twenty months old. Many believe that to this day Charles was never found. The Mandela Effect doesn’t just affect the spelling of a children’s show, but events that play a big part in our daily lives. One of these effects is human anatomy has began to change. Everyone remembers standing up every morning during announcements and saying the pledge. What’s one major part of the pledge? You put your right hand over your heart. Most of your hands go near your left shoulder. What if I told you that’s not where your heart is at all? In fact your heart is more towards the middle of your chest. Now, why would we put our hands by our left shoulder when in reality, our heart is in the middle of our chest? The answer is just simple, the Mandela effect. Another anatomy effect is that people are debating heavily is that some believe that your ribs are open, but really your ribs are more closed and connected. Some say that this may be because when you watch a movie all of the skeletons are are open and spread out. However, what if our body has just changed?
