Definition of Man-made Greenhouse Effect The man-made greenhouse effect is the process enhancement of Earth’s natural greenhouse effect due to the increased concentration of the greenhouse gases. Since greenhouse gases reduce the rate at which the Earth 's surface loses infrared radiation to outer space, thus it will increase the temperature of the Earth’s surface and lower atmosphere.
The Causes of Man-Made Greenhouse Effect The man-made greenhouse effect is caused by human activities which have greatly intensified the natural greenhouse effect by increasing the emission of greenhouse gases. At the same time, some regions of the world this will result in crop failure and famine especially in areas where temperatures are already high. The extra water vapour in the atmosphere will fall again as extra rain, which can cause flooding in other places in the world. Towns and villages that are dependent on meltwater from mountain areas may suffer drought and lack of domestic water supply. This is due to the warmer climate that probably cause more heatwaves, more violent rainfall and also an increase in the number and or severity of storms.
Lastly, rising of sea level is caused by the man-made greenhouse gases emission. Sea level rises because of melting ice. Areas that are just above sea level now, may become submerged. For example, some Pacific Island nations are expected to be partially or completely submerged by the end of the century. Coastal and shallow marine plants and animals will be affected, for example mangroves and coral reefs.
The increase in standing water may allow more insects like mosquitoes and diseases spread by insects, such as Lyme’s disease.

Effect of Man-Made Greenhouse Effect The most serious problem that caused by the man-made greenhouse effect is global warming which is an increase of temperature on the Earth’s surface. This is because the Earth’s unable to release enough heat to space and thus leads to global warming. Global warming is considered a serious problem as it causes the sea level rises due to the melting of glaciers and polar ice.
