What is the meaning of life? What is life’s true purpose? These are some of the questions mankind has been asking since the dawn of civilization and many turn to religion to try to find answers to life itself. Let us take a look at the five major religions in the world today to try to figure out how it gives believers that something extra to live by.
Christianity

The verse above from the Bible expounds that mankind is created for God's glory – to praise God, worship Him, to proclaim His greatness, and to accomplish His will. These glorify Him. This is the meaning for the existence of Mankind, created by Him, according to His desire, and living a life for Him so that Mankind might accomplish what He has destined Mankind to do. Christians belief that when they trust the One who has created them in His image, who works all things after the guidance of His will (Ephesians 1:11), then they have led a purposeful life.

In Islam to worship is to include any and all acts of obedience to Almighty Allah. Thus the purpose of the life of a Muslim is a standing purpose; Worshipping Allah by accepting His Will over one’s own. This act of piety that includes worshipping, thanking and extolling the Greatness Almighty Allah on His terms and His conditions, is for the Muslim to carry out, throughout his whole life regardless at which stage one is at, whether one is a child, youth, adult or an elderly person, one is seeking after the Will of the Almighty and His grace.
