The Media is a common source that many people continue to use to get important information. Journalists are known for seeking out the truth and making sure the public hears it. When the media presents to their audience the details about popular events it influences the actions and mind set of many which could cause them to react negatively or positively. Throughout her battle with integration she was always involved with news reporters, journalists or even being mentioned in newspaper articles. It eventually led to her becoming a reporter herself in which many would be able to understand. In the memoir , Warriors Don’t Cry she would continuously leave records in her diary each day of her experiences through battle integration. As she was exposed to the media abundantly she grew an understanding about how the media works and became interested. She realized how the media helped her and the rest of the little rock nine by giving them voices outside of being in Central High due to when they were in Central High they weren’t allowed to have voices. Melba had also experienced the power in the media when her mother had lost her job due to her allowing Melba into Central High and how her mother used the media to get the people throughout the country to be on their side. Eventually she had gotten her job back which only caused Melba to really understand how strong the media is and how it could give a lot of people that don’t have a voice a voice to get their perspective on certain issues that could solve many
