The Media is a common source that many people continue to use to get important information. Journalists are known for seeking out the truth and making sure the public hears it. When the media presents to their audience the details about popular events it influences the actions and mind set of many which could cause them to react negatively or positively. Throughout her battle with integration she was always involved with news reporters, journalists or even being mentioned in newspaper articles. It eventually led to her becoming a reporter herself in which many would be able to understand. In the memoir , Warriors Don’t Cry she would continuously leave records in her diary each day of her experiences through battle integration. As she was exposed to the media abundantly she grew an understanding about how the media works and became interested. She realized how the media helped her and the rest of the little rock nine by giving them voices outside of being in Central High due to when they were in Central High they weren’t allowed to have voices. Melba had also experienced the power in the media when her mother had lost her job due to her allowing Melba into Central High and how her mother used the media to get the people throughout the country to be on their side. Eventually she had gotten her job back which only caused Melba to really understand how strong the media is and how it could give a lot of people that don’t have a voice a voice to get their perspective on certain issues that could solve many

That means that more than half of the percent of black students attend schools that have mostly black students. Melba isn’t some person who walked the face of the earth and had a family and a job, she didn’t just have this normal life, she was special.as a result of segregation in the United States in 1950’s and 1960’s, Melba Pattillo Beals took a stand against/on segregation in the United States by integrating into Central High School in Central Arkansas, which inspired other African American people of the U.S. to help integrate other schools and stop segregation. How many people wake up everyday and face a world of hate and disrespect for their culture. Where the color of our skin makes us different, while white is just a state of mind. In many instances throughout the novel, Melba must be brave and is sometimes not able to rely on anyone else but herself. There are many figures in the novel that help her overcome obstacles but in many cases, she is forced to fight the battle on her own. One could imply that the tone of the novel is fearful because she is terrified in multiple occasions and is forced to overcome these challenges. The theme of self-reliance for Melba starts when she joins Central High.
Education is what gives us the ability to make something of ourselves. Education is a right, some many people today still have to fight for. Melba was constantly threatened by segregationists during her time at Central High School while she was fighting for equal rights. Equal rights became an important issue to Melba throughout Warriors Don 't Cry, and she also became a face of change to her people.
Media is very powerful because it can change human perspectives. Because people mainly rely on news and other media, it’s very important to learn their message. Media can use a manipulative message to persuade the audience and publish false stereotypes. Stereotypes like poverty, illiteracy, and violence, regard African American can have a negative impact on black people that usually we feel less worthy than others. African people are commonly portrayed by media as poor or from lower class family.
This just goes to show that although mass media has not been around for all that long it is one of the major driving forces in society
In America, Media bias is everywhere, in the United States all the information that an average American received through everyday sources, the news was most likely processed through the media and told through a biased point of view, when the media gets their hands on news if it is important then it probably won’t be talked about or downplayed no matter the source like in the newspaper, radio, television, movies, as well as other outlets that the media uses, the media only seems to share the news that they find interesting, even then the media would most likely have changed the story, in what they say is just tweaked news, what actually happened and what really happened would be two different stories, also the story would be told from one person

Melba Pattillo Beals was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on Pearl Harbor Day December 7, 1941. Her parents were divorced when she was seven and separated after she was recommended for going to Central High to be integrated with the whites. Because of the media exposure Melba received when she was integrating schools she decided to pursue a career in journalism. At age seventeen, Melba began selling articles to major newspapers and magazines and later received a master's degree in journalism from columbia university. She worked as a news reporter from San Francisco's public television station, KQED, NBC affiliate, and the KRON TV.
