This will no doubt, continue to be a tradition which will be passed down from generation to generation. However, it is important to note that our beliefs and superstitions are formed in the context of the environment in which we live which is created by our family, friends, associates, culture and societal influences. These beliefs, whether good or bad, emanate from a variety of psychological, personal, emotional and subjective reasoning. When these beliefs are formed, several explanations are used in an attempt to justify them, some can be explained from a rational standpoint, while others which are irrational and cannot be understood, are explained by the use of superstition. Whichever perspective is used, as the world evolves and civilization progresses, superstitions that have been handed down from generation to generation remain the same, while at the same time new ones are being formed by the very thoughts and beliefs which originally influenced the superstitious beliefs and rituals which have been inculcated into varying

Superstition was more than just a concept to the poor; it fueled their daily lives with excitement and gave them hope even in their darkest days. Many lives were affected by superstition in the Elizabethan Era, not only the poor peasants in the cities but even the highest of royalty. In the Christian Holy text, The Bible, there are fractions that suggest that supernatural aspects. They mention things like messenger angels and devious demons.
Superstition is a belief, custom, or act based on a collection of beliefs. Superstitions are not based upon facts. They are also based upon random situations rather than to be proven on given evidence. Fear can hinder you from living life to the fullest because you are afraid. The Power of the mind can cause you to accuse regular occurrences on superstition and or fear.
One of the most common ways we see superstitions today are through stories and legends one tells to children. Originating from ancient times, “but roman superstitions didn't end there, children were told nasty creatures would who would come to eat them if they weren't good,”(roman_empire.net, pg. 1). This, a tale as old as time, although effective, was completely based off of superstition. Another example of superstition transferring to contemporary times, “Romans were extremely superstitious, their world was full of phenomenon making superstitions a perfectly natural part of the relationships between gods and men,” (roman-empire.net).

Some people in modern society accept this outdated tradition blindly and loyally. They think follow the old saying is better than that they are unmoved, so they prefer to carry out the outdated tradition without any reason. These people view the outdated tradition as normal, even necessary. We can find some outdated tradition and superstitious people anywhere.
Thus, my mother told me this superstition specifically for the purpose of my project. I conduct this interview during summer time where I went back to Malaysia. There were my other family members sitting around us—there were my father and my grandmother. I interviewed my mother for about 45 minutes by asking her the details of this superstition. During the interview, we were my grandmother’s house in Johor, Malaysia to visit her before Eid Ul Fitr (a religious festival celebrates by Malaysians’ Muslims).
