The Mongols are coming! The Mongols are coming! The Mongol empire was a large, brutish group that conquered much land and had many other unique achievements. The Mongols had many motives for conquering the land, but they had one major reason. The members of this tribe traveled, because they needed grass for their animals to eat. This need for more grass led to them to constantly move or in this case, conquer. Methods they used to gain control of others included, but were not limited to, execution, more conquering, brute force, or burning cities to the ground. Mongols used execution as a way to show what happened when a person did not listen. As a result, this instilled fear in others, persuading them to listen if they wanted to live. They
These methods of murder further display how cruel the Mongols
Lastly the Mongols performed vicious practices that were fatal and inhumane. In Document 5 a picture depicts five people being buried alive and another man being shot with arrows while tied to a tree. by vizmike in November 19, 2013 Despite the fact the Mongols frequently used torture and inhumane battle tactics during war, these definitions shows that the mongols were civilized in the times that they were not in war. If people surrendered or were subdued without resistance the mongols exacted tribute, such as taxes or men for war, but generally left the inhabitants alone because their had more joy to spread. (Chapter 14-15 in world history textbook in the library.) To sum it up the mongols were generally peaceful and prosperous but just like any conquest they had to killed a few to get there such as the roman rule or the Han Dynasty
The Mongols must kill every inhabitant in the city, if they would have difficulty doing this task, they would make the residents suffer until their forfeit and accept death. They would burn their houses down, destroy cities, and use the corpses of the killed to attack the houses. This is a truly disturbing action, but to the Mongols, it was a memorable achievement. During these battles and conquests, many people including the innocent were massacred. Document F shows the total number of killed people by the Mongols in Bukhara, Samarkand, Merv, Nishapur, Herat, Riazan, Kozelsk, and Baghdad.
Many people including kids, fathers, mothers, priest, and many more lives were lost, due to the mongols need for war. The mongols would also shoot their own dead using catapults. Because of this the plague known as the Black Death started to spread to the rest of Europe. The christian were not as bad, sure they would kill and rape like the mongols did, but they did not take it to the extremes of the mongols.
Horses, for example, were used as an implement to defeat the opposition by the Mongols because of their speed and mobility. These empires were feared and hated for their military power and desire for more
The Mongols were a clan of people who showed their barbarism through inflicting ruthless fear tactics, killing hundred thousands of people, and living by a set of uncivilized rules and barbarous body of laws. Mongols had countless ways of forcing fear not only on their enemies but among their own people as well. The Mongols number one method in ensuring that their people will stay in line is by threatening death upon them. If a few, in battle, flee from the enemy the entire group gets killed, unless they return back and in this case only the ones who originally fled are killed. If one or two from a group goes bravely towards the enemy, and others don’t follow, they are killed.

It is without a doubt that the Mongols were a barbaric group of people whose legacy for being brutal and murdering millions is still alive and very well known today. But what we don't consider often enough is their reasons for acting this way towards outsiders from their own group. The reason for this was because from the beginnings the Mongol people were nomads. Being a nomadic civilization required one to compete for livestock and pasture land with other tribes. This does not excuse the Mongolians for the horrible acts committed but we need to consider their reasons behind their brutality.
Verdict of the Trial of Genghis Khan. After the trial had taken place, I decided that Genghis Khan and the Mongols were uncivilized. During the time of the trial I learned much more of the brutality that had taken place during his reign. The barbaric attitudes and actions of himself and his followers is what led to him being found guilty of being uncivilized.
Depicted in the chart, was the number of reported deaths, so tragic to the point that it left these cities with large number of deaths to also leaving Kozelsk with no survivors (doc.6). Also, since the Mongols took over the lands and succeeded to the dominion not by hereditary but by conquest, it left the Mongols believing that the natives could not be trusted, putting all trust to foreigners like the Tartars who were devoted to the Khan (doc.2). The author of this source, Marco Polo most likely did not have the same anger for the Khan as the Chinese towards the Mongols for taking over their land because he was a loyal subject to the Khan working under him for 17 years, and how he was also a foreigner so he could possibly not understand the Chinese. A similarity to the killings of the mongols was the mayan sacrifices of war captives. A purpose of these sacrifices was to appease the gods, but another purpose of these rituals was to instill fear within their rivals and neighboring
Despite of their ruthless, the Mongol Empire did has positive impacts on the development of Europe in five different areas, namely political, economic, social, weapons advancement and spread of Christianity due to the Mongol exchange. First, in political aspects, some said the mongols have a negative impact on Europe , as they changed the political history of Europe, especially of Russia, because of their ruling in conquered countries. If they refused to pay he ordered his soldiers to kill every person in sight in return for refusing. The villages would have been protected if they pay money to them, and at the time being protected by Khan and his army was generally a good thing to have. Par.2

Said tribe originated from the grasslands of central asia and went on to become one of the most successful and most conversed about castes in history. The story of the mongols, however, is one that is quite difficult to tell.
