Clarissa Fray, also known as Clary, is the main protagonist of The Mortal instruments: City of Bones. She’s short, has red curly hair, green eyes and a somewhat lanky figure. Clary is stubborn but a very compassionate person. She’s known for her unique ability to create new runes, considering she has more angle blood in her than any other Shadowhunter. Except for Jace, the second protagonist. Jace Lightwood is a skilled shadowhunter with the features of an literal angel but actions of a jerk. You can expect lots of supernatural beings and actions. Warlocks, fairies, werewolves and vampires are creatures who inhabit the Shadow World, that can only be seen if you have the Sight. They also go by the term Downworlders. Supernatural actions as bloodsucking, abnormal healing and demon-summoning isn’t anything odd. Come to think of it, I would also place this book as a romance because it involves the protagonists slowly falling in love with each other as well as several love triangles throughout the novel. I think the reason the book goes by the title The Mortal instruments: City Of Bones is because the story partially takes place in the City of Bones, also known as the Silent City. The Silent City is a necropolis that holds the dead bodies of slain Shadowhunters, and is an important place in this book. This is where Clary was taken to get her mind examined by the Silent Brothers, in attempt to search for her memories. The Mortal Instruments are three divine objects, given by the Angel Raziel centuries ago. A mirror, a sword and a cup.
