Suspense played a big role in the this story it created an ominous mood and made the reader wait. Is rainsford going to die how will this work out in or against Rainsfords favor ? These are all things that the reader might think when they hit a suspenseful part in the story “He let out a short hoarse cry he had reached to far and lost his balance the cry was pinched off short as the blood warm waters of the caribbean sea closed over his head.”(pg 69) Connell the author slowed down time in this very instinct he made the readers wait even longer to see if he made it out alive or drowned it creates questions for the readers and makes us interested. “The Most Dangerous game” by Richard Connell Uses the techniques of mood, irony, and suspense. With all theses things a reader will get sucked into the story and feel like they are right alongside the characters.
In the Most Dangerous Game a man falls off a boat, swims to an island and is taken in by General Zaroff, the owner of the island. The general proceeds to tell Rainsford that he likes to hunt men for sport and that he will be hunting Rainsford. Zaroff sends Rainsford off into the island where he will haunt him. Rainsford wins the game but Zaroff goes back to his room thinking he has won. Rainsford confronts Zaroff and sleeps in his room, we think that Rainsford has killed Zaroff somehow.
While passing an island, the two feel a sudden chill. Creeped out and tired, Whitney goes to bed. Rainsford stays awake to smoke, only to hear three abrupt gunshots in the distance. Startled and curious, Rainsford tries to explore the source of the noise, and he falls off the ship. Rainsford then struggles to swim back toward the yacht, but reaches
The setting is extremely essential to the plot of Richard Connell’s short story “The Most Dangerous Game” for two main reasons. For instance, when Rainsford is swimming to the island he notices that there are large rocks surrounding it: “ Jagged crags appeared to jut up into the opaqueness;”(3). Since there are large jagged rocks surrounding “ Ship Trap” island sailors would typically not dare go near them. If these rocks were not surrounding the island onlookers would see men being killed, not dock and General Zaroff would have no game to hunt. People would see the general’s cruel hunting game and report it to the authorities.
The first conflict is man versus nature. In the middle of the night, Rainsford hears a series of gunshots near by. Consequently, he jumps out of bed and climbs to sit on the edge of the boat so he can see better. Everyone else is still asleep. Suddenly he drops something over the side and tries to lean forward to catch it, but falls into the water.
She Spots her brother “tap-tapping” on an outcrop. The author’s diction by showing her complex relationship with her brother; she becomes very suspicious of him and also did not want him to get the upper hand so she became jealous of him. Claudia makes her way up to where her brother is, but then she spots a place where “Asteroceras is lurking by the hundred” and tries to pass him. Unfortunately Gordon is in the way and will not give up his spot. They and up thrashing around on the cliff and Claudia ends up falling off the cliff; however, she is to stun with pain to even scream on the way down.

When he wakes up, he finds himself on board a ship, Captain’s Revenge, with many seamen in eccentric and elaborate costumes. After much effort in trying to communicate with them, he realised with much consternation that he had somehow travelled back in time to 1695. The pirates, having seen him appear in the sea out of a flash of light, saved him out of curiosity.

They know that they are going to get caught and they are probably going to die “A ship full of refugees being bombed in the Mediterranean” (George Orwell 8). Some examples of ignorance is strength is, In the beginning Winston writes in his journal about the late night flicks during hate week, the boat of refugees and the big man that was trying to get away from. The audience was very amused by the fat man trying to get away with the helicopter trailing right behind him. The helicopter then shot him, and he began to sink.
Arrow is about “a Spoiled billionaire playboy Oliver Queen is missing and presumed dead when his yacht is lost at sea. He returns five years later a changed man, determined to clean up the city as a hooded vigilante armed with a bow.” Oliver queen who was lost at sea but somehow survived even though he had no hunting skills, resources, or anyone to help played a major role in saving “starling city”. I really enjoy this show but, I still think the show is flawed. The dialog,is so cliché, its so fake and filled with cheesy words that we 'd never say in real life. What I like most about the show are the action and the plot. The plot is very good, the crimes never seem to end, and I loved every episode in the series.
When Whitney was talking about the "Ship-Trap island" he was saying that ship always get lost or crash there. When she went to bed and Rainsford stayed to smoke another pipe he heard three gunshots coming from an island. He then fell off the boat and started swimming to the nearest island. When Rainsford falls off a boat and swims to an island. There on "ship-trap island" he find general Zaroff who hunts humans.
In episode 1 three participants go to liverpool to meet the people who were refuegees and resettled in liverpool. When they go the pools the viewers hear the confronting story of a man who his wife and kids which died sinking after they boat was wrecked. They show close ups of many kids and adults sinking which can be confronting to many people. As the particpants hear this they were immediately stoned by the fact that there is no other way to escape or to get to a safe region only by boat which means they could face dangerous situations. This is also for the other three participants especialy racquel which she describes herself as a racist but later through the two episodes she feels empathy for refugees and gets emotional for the masuidi family in
Another highly unbelievable event that takes place is when Rainsford swam all the way around the island to kill Zaroff. This is extremely unbelievable because Rainsford was very exhausted and worn out. First Rainsfords trap kills Ivan, but the dogs move on, trapping Rainsford at the edge of a cliff. Next instead of fighting the dogs, Rainsford jumps off into the sea below, stunned and angered, Zaroff returns to his home. Finally as he flicks on his bedroom light, he is in complete shock to find Rainsford hidden within the curtains of the bed.
