The racism and hate that people of color faced is still alive today, it has actually increased. Because of Emmett Till and Vincent Chin’s appearances, they were savagely beaten and killed because of their race. Emmett Till was murdered for allegedly whistling at a white women. Vincent Chin was murdered because he was mistaken for being japanese. Emmett Till only 14 years old when he was murdered in a racist attack that was certainly unjustified. On August 28, 1955 just three days after visiting the store Till was kidnapped, beaten, and murdered.
