It was December 25, 1996, that evening; the Ramsey’s were at a friend’s house, having their annual Christmas party. Late that night, when it was time to leave the party, patsy and john Ramsey’s daughter Jonbenet was sound to sleep on the way back home. When they went to put her to bed, little did they know that it would be the last time they see their daughter alive. Although JonBenet Ramsey’s killer may still be out there, her mother Patsy is most likely the suspect of the crime.
“In a child's eyes, a mother is a goddess. She can be glorious or terrible, benevolent or filled with wrath, but she commands love either way. I am convinced that this is the greatest power in the universe.” (N.K. Jemisin). JonBenét Ramsey’s short childhood revolved around her mother. Patsy Ramsey dictated every bit of JonBenéts life, primarily through pageants, where she shined, being crowned nine times within two years (PageantStarsUSA). On December 26th, 1996, JonBenét was found dead in her basement by her father. Multiple pieces of evidence suggesting that the Ramseys killed their daughter. In the shocking controversial case of the JonBenét Ramsey murder, the verdict incorrectly acquitted John and Patsy Ramsey of murder and child abuse, even though evidence towards the staging of the murder, along with signs and variations of child abuse, and the mishandling of key points of evidence and investigation.
On the night of December 26, 1996, JonBenet Ramsey, a six-year-old beauty queen, appeared dead at the crime scene. The autopsy showed that someone strangled her to death. Also, her skull had gotten fractured, and she also appeared sexually assaulted. The ongoing investigation has multiple suspects, but none seem totally guilty. The police found JonBenet dead in her basement. Police investigated and interviewed many people who may have taken part in the murder. The top suspects, her mom, dad, and step-brother all have reasons to commit this crime.
The day of JonBenet Ramsey’s murder immediately turned into a chaotic mystery that still remains open and unsolved. On December 26, 1996, Patsy Ramsey found that her daughter, JonBenet, was missing and nowhere to be found. Likewise, Patsy found
On Christmas of 1996, in a quiet neighborhood in Boulder, Colorado, a beauty queen was murdered. JonBenet Ramsey was found strangled in the basement of her parents’ home, but there were no eyewitnesses to this awful crime that occurred. The only piece of evidence that was found was a three-page ransom note that was found on their staircase. JonBenet Ramsey was a six-year-old pageant girl that was found murdered in her parents’ home in Boulder, Colorado, on December 26, 1996. Ramsey’s trial still remains unsolved; John Mark Karr was thought to be the killer but evidence showed that he was not. Also, there is an intruder theory with the Ramsey case; but the mystery still unfolds in this lifetime of mystery.
On the morning of December 26, 1996, Jonbenét Ramsey, a 6-year-old beauty pageant queen, was pronounced kidnapped in an emergency 911 call. Later that day, Jonbenét Ramsey was found dead in her family’s home in Boulder, Colorado. The case was flourishing among the media, following every step of the case. Eventually, the story would expand within the entire United States. The initial investigation was extensive, however, the killer was not found. Today, the world still doesn’t know who had killed Jonbenét Ramsey or why. People have speculated whether an intruder had killed Jonbenét Ramsey, or someone within the family. With all of the evidence that was presented in The Case of: Jonbenét Ramsey, it could be inferred that the person who killed Jonbenét
To begin with, JonBenet Ramsey was born on August 6, 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia, she was a 6 year old beauty pageant who lived in Boulder, Colorado, and was the daughter of John and Patsy Ramsey. On December 26th, the day after Christmas, she was found by her murdered in the basement of her own home by her father. A blow to the head had fractured her skull; she had been strangled with a cord that was tied around her neck and was tightened with a garrote. (Casarez J.)Till today, the murder remains unsolved and investigators continue
Six-year-old, JonBenet Ramsey was an award winning beauty pageant queen with a promising future, until she was brutally murdered on December 26, 1996 in the basement of her Boulder, Colorado home. The perennial Ramsey case has remained unsolved for over twenty years. Some theories suggest that the case has remained unsolved because of police missteps, while other theories point to family members or extreme media coverage of the case that pressured the investigators to pursue the case hastily, resulting in sloppy work. Though there are many theories about who killed JonBenet and how, the theory of her brother, Burke, makes the most logical sense.
On December 26th,1996, JonBenet's mother Patsy Ramsey claimed to have found a handwritten 2.5 page ransom note on their stairs. The ransom note also demanded $118,000 for JonBenet to have a safe return, otherwise they claimed JonBenet would be “beheaded”. The
I am very familiar with this tragic event that occurred December 26, 1996 in the Ramsey household. JonBenet Ramsey was located in her basement home where her father John, her mother Patsy and brother Burke also lived. Before her lifeless body was discovered Patsy found a ransom note in the home demanding a large sum of money. It was shown that JonBenet’s skull was fractured, she had been strangled and molested. There was blood located in JonBenet’s underwear that did not belong to her. There was also fiber located on the adhesive side of the tape that matched fiber from her mother. (2015) Fibers located inside JonBenet’s underwear belonged to her father John. (2015)
When JonBenet’s body was found, it was covered by one of her blankets. Several crime analysts have questioned the action simply because in prior cases when the body was covered, the action meant that the murder felt remorse. This again, lead authorities to believe that someone close to JonBenet murdered her. Another factor authorities found odd was undigested pineapple was found in JonBenet’s stomach when her autopsy was being conducted. According to JonBenet’s family, pineapple was one of JonBenet’s favorite foods. Since the pineapple was undigested, authorities believed that she was fed pineapple by her supposed killer before she was murdered. When the police were investigating the house, a bowl of pineapple and milk was sitting on the Ramsey’s kitchen counter along with a glass of iced tea with the tea bag still in the cup. When tested for fingerprints, JonBenet’s fingerprints were not found, however Burke Ramsey’s fingerprints were found on the glass. Patsy Ramsey’s fingerprints were found on the bowl of pineapple. Suspicion was raised when Patsy Ramsey denied ever getting either of her children a bowl of pineapple. Burke Ramsey also did not recall having a snack before he went to sleep that night. Burke also specified that his Mother rarely let food sit out on the counter after he was finished eating it. Patsy always made sure the house
The unsolved murder of JonBenet Ramsey, in 1996, remains one of the most discussed, and criticized cases in the United States. Even after 20 years, people, and the so called “experts” in all forms of law enforcement have their own theories, although nothing has been proven, and no suspects have been identified or brought to trial.
New DNA could lead to more clues in the investigation, Biography stated this, “In July 2008, new "touch DNA" technology seemed to exonerate all members of JonBenét’s family in the 1996 killing,” ("JonBenét Ramsey"). With the new technology, we have today DNA can be taken and tested in a couple days of a crime, it is also very reliable. Not to mention all the pressure put on the parents of the family, finding DNA other than their families was a relief. The DNA found led police away from the family, CNN Library stated,“Early suspicion fell on her parents, but they were exonerated after DNA at the scene was found to belong to a male unrelated to the Ramsey family,” ("JonBenet Ramsey"). Since the DNA did not match to any of the family members, they now have to find who actually committed the crime. DNA was found at the crime scene that did not match any of the family members; since the DNA did not match an outsider must have been in the house as
In an effort to protect Burke Ramsey after Patsy and John Ramsey saw that JonBenet Ramsey had succumbed to the injury they fashioned an elaborate plan to cover up her death. The way JonBenet Ramsey was placed within the wine cellar, draped with her blanket, indicated an intimate relationship with the person(s) that placed her there. The elaborate handwritten letter detailing the exact amount of a recent bonus that John Ramsey had received as ransom when he was known to be valued at much more. The letter stated it was from a foreign faction that did not like the American government explaining that their actions were not personal (Ross, 2013). Additionally, the ransom demand would have reasonably been substantially higher if it was, in fact, a terrorist type organization. Burke Ramsey was too young to be held accountable for his actions, consequently, Patsy and John Ramsey could have been held accountable had the investigation been conducted appropriately, gathering all the evidence available, as well as separately interviewing each member of the
JonBenet Ramsey was murdered on Christmas day she was only six-year-old. In like a normal families night time routine the Ramsey’s went put their children to bed than the mother Patsy Ramsey randomly woke up and walked to the kitchen where she found ransom note. The ransom note was about two in a half pages long anf it did say that the criminals wanted one hundred and eighteen thousand dollars for JonBenet Ramsey. The ransom note stated that she would be exchanged for the money the very next day and if they didn’t go by the not JonBenet was going to be killed. When several minutes past then the police arrived which they didn’t accurately secure the crime scene although; a investigator that had arrive to the scene should have gathered and collected the evidence but didn’t happened until later. The police had not searched the house for JonBenet until John the father of JonBenet discovered his six-year-old daughter in the basement of their house under a white blanket. JonBenet had been sexually assaulted, her hands were tied above her head and her mouth was taped shut. She
