She was found on her knees, bent forward and her head was in a dreamlike barrel filled with water. The Wood River Police Department went to the crime scene, but they had technical problems. The crime-scene technician couldn't make his flashlight to his camera work, so they had to take pictures of the crime scene with another camera, unfortunately that camera only took black and white pictures. The technician also had problems with fingerprints, because there where a lot of clear prints, but Kara and her fiancé have had a party the

About two years after the murder of Kara the investigators went to John Douglas in the BSU for help. Mr. Douglas gave a specific prescription of the kind of UNSUB they should be looking for and what his behavior will be. Mr. Douglas told the investigators that the offender didn't come with the intention to kill Karla, he wanted sex from her. The killing of Karla was the result of the attack going wrong and the offender killed her instead. John Douglas explains that this offender will not have committed murder before because of the poor staging, but he will probably have committed smaller crimes. This kind of offender will also have a lack of self-esteem, and average IQ, no further education than high school, and he will probably turn to alcohol, drugs or cigarettes after the crime. The offender will be recently divorced or having marital problems, which was the stressor in this case. Mr. Douglas tells the investigators that this kind of UNSUB will follow the investigation closely to see if they have any new leads, and the investigators have already interviews him about the …show more content…
The investigators used Mr. Douglas profile to lure the real offender out. They knew he was watching the case and will probably talk about the murder as well, they told the media that they had new leads in the case and gave them the profile. Not long after contacting the media a man contacted the police department telling him that not long after the murder a woman had told him that a man had told her he´d been in the house the day Karla was murdered. The man had also told her about bite marks at Karla´s neck, which was something the police didn't find out about one year after the murder and they hadn't shared it to the public. This man was one of the two suspects and he fits the profile more than the other suspect. The investigators sent a wired man to talk to the main suspect and see if he would talk more about the murder. Though, he didn't admit he killed Karla, he was telling the wired man things that made him fit the profile even more. The investigators then required a court order to get the suspects dental impressions to see if it matched to the one´s found on Karla´s neck, they matched. After almost four years they found the killer thanks to John Douglas
In the controversial court case, the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, many believe the family happens to be the killers; however, the court show take their focus away from the Ramsey family. The neighbors said the Ramsey’s spoiled their children and raised them the best they could, but others say different. The majority of the people that know about this case have their minds set on the parents being the murderers, but there is other evidence that could steer law enforcement away from the family. Evidence was found that night that could show the family did it, but other evidence possibly shows someone else. Since the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, the finding of a ransom note demanding $118,000, random DNA tests, and confession by an individual have

All five victim identified Crotzer in court, more specifically as the assailant who held the shotgun and raped both female victims. He testified that he was with his girlfriend the night the crime was committed. He also stated that along with his girlfriend he was with a friend and other members of his girlfriend’s family. But based on the identifications made by the victims, serological evidence, his alibi was disregarded.
They determined he was committing the crimes because of an event that happened in his past which was the murder of his mother. They based their profile of the unsub living in the area and growing up there because all the murders happened in small area rather than spread out over a long distance. They called the unsub severally antisocial because he had no connection to any of the victims and did not have a calling sign, he also did not stick around and was gone before the cops got to the scene. They diagnosed him with having a mental disorder with his last murder where he shot a man who was kissing his girlfriend yet he thought he was raping her. This is where they found out that what he was seeing and thinking was not real life and he was delusional.
Eventually, she was able to escape and went to the police, where she gave them all the information she had to bring her attacker to justice. The police department presented her with a handful of suspects that were already identified from past encounters. She picked out the one she recognized the most, a man named Ronald Cotton who had an extensive criminal record. The police were already suspicious of him, and her identification was all the evidence they
It was a summer Sunday afternoon in 1982, a partially clothed body discovered floating in the river, becoming a gruesome welcome to a serial killer’s trail (McCarthy & Thornburgh, 2002, p. 1). Next to this woman’s body was a naked 17-year-old girl who was strangled in the same manner as the first (McCarthy & Thornburgh, 2002, p. 1). The horrific discovery of these two women, Marcia Chapman and Cynthia Hinds, will become the beginning of a trail of serial murders. As murders mounted, the killer would be identified as ‘The Green River Killer” because his identity would remain unknown for 19 years. In 2001 detectives were able to use a new technology that tested DNA samples (McCarthy & Thornburgh, 2002, p. 8).
Kurose was murdered!Kurose was the Vice-Principal of Wai’anae High School and was liked by many and was thought of as kind and thoughtful, but there were a few teachers who thought differently. Oberlander, Hansen, Moriwaki and Ratcliffe are the suspects in this case. He was stabbed several times and his dismembered body was found in a classroom submerged in an ice bucket. An autopsy suggests that he was murdered between 14:45 and 15:30. Moriwaki is the murderer because she had the motive, opportunity and an accomplice.
The investigators were convinced it was Adnan Syed- the ex boyfriend, they saw through his charm and manipulation accusing him of killing Hae because they broke up which was in December a month before she went missing. The amount of evidence in the case was not strong. First, when they tested
Black Dahlia Murder Fame. The condition of being known or talked about by many people, especially on account of notable achievements. A young woman by the name is Elizabeth Short with the face of a doll dreamed of fame and stardom at a young age, but one should always be careful with what they wish for. When locals find her body gruesomely mutilated, the news spread fast and The Black Dahlia case became the talk of the town. The mystery behind The Black Dahlia murder can be summed up into two theories; George Hodel or Walter Bayley was the murder.
Black Dahlia Murder In 1947 the tragic loss of Elizabeth Short shocked many people all over the world. This wasn’t your typical murder, this murder had to have been planned out and thought about for a while before its happening. The “Black Dahlia Murder” is the biggest unsolved case in Los Angeles and is still an undergoing investigation. I have reason to believe that Dr. Gorge Hodel is the murderer behind the brutality of Elizabeth Short’s body.
What happened? The current detective, Mr. Towers, said they were trying to locate a person of interest, but could not find him, Twyla found him, in jail. She has tried to call the police department to report this finding, no one will talk to her. How is it that a civilian can find this individual, but the detective on the case can not? The current detective said he wants to go question people, but his biggest fear is that they won 't want to talk to him.
The evidence left on her body was faded and was very hard to trace back to any suspects. The police did everything they could possibly do during that time to find the perpetrator. Twenty-two years have passed since Amber was killed and there is still and ongoing investigation going on today regarding her case. It has been said that the officers are no closer to finding Amber’s killer than they were in 1996 because there isn’t much evidence to go off on. In the article “Body of Kidnapped Texas Girl is Found published by the New York Times it says “detectives say they believe someone out there has knowledge that will aid in brining closure to Amber’s family and
