If we are comparing junk food to eating healthy then yes junk food is cheaper. Going to McDonalds you can get two cheeseburgers and a large drink all for $3.25, while if you want a salad your total will most likely be over $6. Our society complains that too many children even adults are obese, but it’s not their fault. We can’t help that we would rather by the cheapest thing on menu than the most expensive. America wants their citizen to eat less junk food due to the increase of obesity today, they want us to be healthy and active but the healthiest items cost the most.
One of America’s fast food favorites are burgers. Although burgers are a fast food favorite people shouldn’t get them as often because they are extremely unhealthy. Burgers can cause heart issues and have lots of calories in them. And they can also cause weight gain (Comparing Fast Food Nutrition). This shows that although burgers may taste really good, they cause more harm than good.
One thing schools can do to help get better school lunches is offer more of a variety. Some schools give each student one specific meal a day, but adding side foods like vegetables and fruit really help. In 2008, and analysis of school lunches concluded that school cafeterias don’t offer much fruit to their students, and that can be a real problem in someone’s health. Luckily, the unhealthy school lunches are getting more and more awareness. School cafeterias are bringing in a better variety in foods such as, salad bars, and different fruits for the students to choose from.
The fast food industry is constantly improving everything to get people to come back and order the “new,” that will benefit them in many ways. Fast food chains tend to always make their prices cheap and try to give the customers more bank for their buck, yet those calories aren’t helping one bit. People would think it’d be healthier to eat at school, though many students don’t like the school food and choose not to eat, therefore being hungry all day, disturbing the ability to pay attention in class. A student is expected to put their 100% in doing their best in school, with that said, if one does not have meals that energize them to keep going, how do teachers expect
Most of the food in cafeteria is fast food such as pizza, fries, and burger, and it is spreading obesity in teenagers. It is hard to believe that vending machines has much more healthier
Even though people think they are saving time and improving on their lives by eating precooked and prepackaged meals, their fascination with fast made food is causing the quality of their lives to decrease. As most people know, fast foods and precooked meals are usually less healthy than meals made at home. Fast food has tons of fat, sugar, preservatives, and salt that hides the fact that it is not fresh. If people do not consume foods that provide the vitamins and minerals they need, they may become tired and
With old school lunches many meals did not provide students with the proper amounts of protein, fruits, and vegetables since they mainly consisted of foods such as pizza, macaroni and cheese, and grilled cheese. All of these popular foods were filled with unnecessary fats, oils, and carbs that students did not need in their daily diets. New school lunches will help provide all students with necessary vitamins and minerals into their diet such as Vitamin D and K through popular vegetables and fruits. Along with the general population of students, a new healthier lunch will majorly benefit the low-income students, as most school systems give these students a free or price-reduced lunch. Since for some of these students, it is their only whole meal of the day it is important for them to have a proper meal.
Overall the effects that the fast food had on him where mind blowing. It is clear that fast food vs. normal food is ten times worse for the human body and is a major problem in society. In conclusion, the film “Super-Size Me” has a lot of important information about health and the food that we consume. After seeing this film it made me realize how eating healthy is very important and how it could have negative effects on your body if you do eat fast food. The film wants to show the audience how fast food has a negative effect on the human body when I saw the statistics that Morgan Spurlock consumed on McDonalds it surprised me.
A world without fast food such as Mcdonald's, Wendy’s, Jack in the box etc would have a healthier environment. It is known that fast food is incredibly dangerous and can cause health problems, in spite of how unhealthy the food is people still tend to consume it. The film Supersize Me is a documentary in which it emphasizes the message of the risks eating fast food has, in this case it’d be Mcdonalds, it expresses the harm that could be done physically and mentally to a person. Every fast food company spends millions of dollars advertising their product, and though they know the product isn’t exactly the healthiest snack they fool people into thinking otherwise. Morgan Spurlock attempts to demonstrate the importance of eating healthy and limiting the amount of junk food consumed, he makes his claim plausible by using several different ways to attract the audience’s attention.
They want students to eat healthy but at the same time eat what they like. when students go off campus researchers say they gain more weight then when they eat the food they like at school, healthy or not. If it’s not the healthiest food in the world then the lunches service can put less on the kids plate. Kids will eat more at school if the school sells what the kids like. FInally the school noticed it and finally started selly stir-fry stations.
