Obesity is a serious problem in America and the main cause of this disease in children and adults is bad eating habits and lack of physical activity. My research on obesity strives to fill out the solutions mentioned above. I would point out the fact that schools or households are the perfect place to address this problem with obesity and other diseases in order to establish these solutions and hopefully inspire more people to become healthy, using this as an inspiration to inquire future defense against obesity in the United States. For sure, in light of America's childhood-obesity problem (17 percent of kids between 2 and 19 are obese), participating in recess is one of the few inexpensive, readily available opportunities we have to get kids moving. Blaming people’s obesity on fast food is becoming a daily debate. Obesity is a public health issue which needs the approach of healthcare providers and governments. People play an important role in finding a solution for obesity. Restaurants and the food industry are asked to provide people with healthy food that is nutritious. Although the nutrition experts can look at the restaurants’ menus and food chains as based on the nutritional information to compose food that looks healthy, there are many reasons why the consumption of food from fast food chains is not healthy and helps in gaining weight.
Companies like McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, and more are effortless ways for Americans to get their food. A contributor to this is that Americans see fast food as convenient and simple to feed families due to the high impact of lengthy work hours and tiredness from work. With this, children do not have access to nutritious foods early on or most of their food is fast food. Poor eating habits and low levels of physical activity have been linked to childhood obesity. Studies have shown that when children are obese, they rarely grow out of it.
Parents should attack this issue by controlling how much their child consumes, making sure the child(ern) exercises. If you're already overweight or you eat a lot of processed, sugary, high-starch foods, then you'll see good results from changing your eating habits. This change should include moving towards foods like fruits, vegetables, lean meats and natural, "from the Earth" foods. Avoiding things like processed foods, artificial sweeteners, and fast absorbing carbs will be a great way to start your transformation. With that said, eating too much healthy food is still too much when it comes to fat loss, especially if your body fat percentage is fairly low. Clean eating is important for having a healthy body, but too much clean eating is still too much.
The first thing I would do to reduce health disparities among communities and improve the weight of the nation would be to focus on the most health risk community. With data acquired from the greatest risk population, new policies and programs can be created to reduce health disparities. Specifically, promoting health like exercise and eating healthy foods to reduce obesity through media, radio, and the internet will target everyone in the community. Moreover, free nutrition class and exercise programs can be implemented for those who have a lower socioeconomic status. Lastly, it will be important to help reduce the costs of healthy foods so individuals don’t buy cheap fast-foods.
