Have you ever thought about the negative effects social media has on the youth of today? Maybe you’ve become so engrossed in social media that you’ve never realised how much time you spend scrolling through Facebook and how that time could be better used? As a teenager myself, I can agree that social media is now part of almost every teen’s life. Despite there being lots of advantages which come with this massive upward trend, it can also be held responsible for causing some of the world’s major problems. These problems are well publicised like cyberbullying and harassment. Often these incidents result in lowered self-confidence and severe mental health issues which are becoming widespread as the number of teen users register with these sites increases.
