The interaction at the human level has become less frequent in the mode of life day by day of a person. Thanks to social media sites, interaction with others has become effortless, and people are isolated behind online identity. Direct communication was eliminated and much of society has been reduced to using abbreviations that express their emotions. Examples of important aspects of communication that are falling on the side of the road today include:
Basic verbal communication
Tone of voice
Facial expression
Body language
Social media is removing these very human qualities of communication by eliminating the need to get out and socialize with others in person.
Inhibits Physical Interaction With Others

With the touch of your fingertips you can post a question to your social sites asking others for ideas rather than using our own imagination and thought process to generate an idea. Original thinking can easily be replaced by utilizing readily available information online, thus eliminating the need to create your own ideas.
On top of that, people are also less inclined to go outdoors just for some exercise, or even working out at home. After all, it’s difficult to update your online profile when you’re running on a treadmill.
Negative Impact On Children
Most social media sites have strict guidelines about age limits. However, younger children may lie about their age in order to activate an account. These sites are not meant for the younger child. They may be exposed to language, pictures or content that is not appropriate for their age. Young minds are not equipped with the mentality to handle forms of cyber-bullying or online harassment that can occur. This can tie-in directly with depression that could even lead to physical harm.
Young children online can be easily exposed to predators, or they might start interacting with people much too old for them, which can lead to dangerous situations. Parents and caregivers need to be aware of the effects these adult sites can have on a younger child.

Are We Living In Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451? After reading the article Are We Living In Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 I have come to the conclusion that I do agree we are living in Fahrenheit 451 for many reasons. Over the past couple of years many people have forgotten what real communication is all about, it is not about tweeting and texting to each other it is all about real face to face interaction. According to the article it states that “similar kinds of arguments about the dangers of the web and social media” (Ingram 2) have also been made.
Have you noticed when you walk into a restaurant or any public outing where the main focus is to conversate with the person you are with, but the whole time both of you are just blindly scrolling away on social media? This has become such a problem in our generation and it’s all thanks to the great technological advances we have made in the last couple of years. With how far technology has come in the short years it started ramping up, where do you see yourself 10 years from now? A smart phone connected to your brain like a chip? This is what M.T Anderson thought when he wrote his novel FEED.
However, human interactions throughout time have constantly changed and evolved to suit the way we live. In the modern era, human interactions consist of mainly digital media such as the use of mobile phones, social media and networking sites. Our lives have become so heavily involved with media and technology due to their popularization in the last few decades. We are involved with media and technology to the point that almost all types and levels of interactions happen through means of digital media. Although it is believed
The Use of Social Networking Nowadays, we are living under decent technology and it has changed a lot of things: Entertainment, communication, and relationship; economy, education, and habit; medical, political and cultural etc. Social media has allowed us to interact with many more people other than we are used to before. We are living in a world where people would rather use text message with their mobile phone than face-to-face to each other, share greeting with more than hundreds of friends on the social media such as upload how they feel on Facebook, show photo Instagram, and what they are doing with Snapchat.
Information and communication technology has seen lot of changes and advancements since the year 2000, key among them being the development of social media as a social influencer. It has become prominent parts of life for many young people today. We are all aware that social media has had a tremendous impact on our culture, in business, on the world-at-large and social media websites are some of the most popular haunts on the internet. Most people engage with social media without stopping to think what the effects are on our lives, whether positive or negative. Are we as society becoming more concerned with Facebook “friends” than we are with the people we interact with face-to-face in our daily lives?
Not only that, technology has shaped social interaction as a whole. Being able to talk to anyone on the Earth is an important milestone and “One of the areas where computers have had the most impact on our lives is how we relate to and communicate with other people” (Stewart). In a world filled with Skype, social media, and email, no longer do people have to leave their house in order to communicate. In fact, according to a study led by John Cacioppo of the University of Chicago 's Department of Psychology, roughly one-third of romantic relations start by meeting online. This goes to show how huge of an impact technology has had on communication.
There may be some reasons why social media is good for kids, but all and all social media is dangerous to the well-being and education of minors. To start with, social media is dangerous to kids that are online because people can be anonymous, predators, and/or cyberbullies. For example, Hinduja, a professor of criminal justice, at Florida Atlantic University says that about 20% of youth have been either victims or perpetrators of cyberbullying. Also, masking one 's identity on the internet make someone more likely to be a cyberbully (SIRS 1). Masking one’s identity can be a serious problem.
Ancient forms of human communication include cave drawings, smoke signals, symbols, and carrier pigeons. During the late 1800’s, communication became more advanced with the invention of the typewriter and the telephone. Roughly one hundred years later, a military project resulted in what we know today as the internet. With a little innovation, the internet made social interactions between people easier than ever, although, the convenience may come at a cost. Some theories suggest that heavy reliance on social media for human interaction will weaken communication skills, hinder meaningful social interactions, and negatively impact personal relationships.
Social media can affect your health. Your eyes can get damaged by the light being faced to your eyes all the time by your device. All the social media can make you sit down facing your gadget all the time that you’ll never exercise , but gain so much weight that it can be unhealthy for your health. Your muscle can be affected as well, because they would keep interacting too much with their gadgets for a long amount of time.
Social media are mostly used by adults and adolecents. However, there are a lot of children that already use social media. Based on the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, children under 13 years are not allowed to use social media for it can give bad impact for the children who actively use it. The first bad impact is the children can easily access to bad and inappropriate contents.
Violence through online access is very common these days, considering some children are not aware of what others think of them. The lack of protection could make them vulnerable to the harsh world of the internet. Harsh people these days tend to show no mercy since they could care less about the opposing person 's feelings. Other than that, they become influenced to continue wrongdoings because others encourage it through their actions.
Social Media. We usually think of it as Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, etc. Many find this as a good way to share special moments, or a way to share ideas or find them. At least one of you has a social media account, I know that. But the intriguing question to all of us is how much time do we spend on it?
Social Media: Affects Relationships As technology progresses more and more, there have been great changes that have made our lives more easy and efficient. There are many advantages that technology has brought upon us, one in particular is the Internet. The Internet has allowed people to be connected quickly to information and be updated to the issues and happenings around us, but the social networks that have been invented to allow long distance connection have been resulting in negative outcomes for society and our generation. Social media gets in the way of building actual relationships, makes people become inauthentic about their lives and lowers their self-esteem, and has become a dangerous and threatening nature. During these days, it seems as if nobody can live without checking their social media accounts, whether it’s Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
Thus, social media just offer limited meeting. Psychologist, Aric Sigman says, “The use of social networking sites as opposed to face-to-face interaction could lead to major health problems.” He also claimed in the British Journal: The Biologist, “Spending too much time online could lead to social isolation, loneliness a negative outlook. These types of psychological symptoms could eventually lead to more serious health concerns, such as heart disease, cancer and
