Nowadays smartphones are like part of our families, we never go out without our “good friend”, converting in our confident, our toy, our everything. In contrast to few generation ago when children’s major interest was a simply teddy bear, now they want a mobile phone. “This technology increased the social communication and developed into a global trend that spans race, gender, generation, and socioeconomic status” (Aoki & Downes, 2003; Katz, 1997; Turkle, 2011). Therefore, the increased use of smartphones suggests that there has been a technology development because smartphones fulfill our demand. Nevertheless, it could be argued that these rises on the sales indicate that we depend on them, that we can be called “addicted” to smartphones. However, in this essay I will expose several viewpoints concerning to the negative impact of smartphones on our lives and our social interactions. I personally believe that these gadgets have the major impact on social life. According to surveys 50% of the persons are not going to bed without having their mobiles near their pillows (Idugboe, 2011). These new and modern mobiles phones are able to compete with a computer and almost were bitted. But the bad part of the smartphones is not damaging only the economy it is also influencing and bad the teenager’s lives converting them into antisocial persons and to the adults who are working into little robots, always tied to their jobs wasting their family time sending emails.
