In the Myth book by Scott Leonard and Micheal McClure’s “Myth and Knowing: an introduction to world mythology” states that every culture creation myth is unique, but some scholar noted that there are some similarities for every culture creation myth. The story of Genesis creation myth holds a significant place in shaping the belief system and values of millions of believers around the world. The influence Genesis had on the world was both positive and negative. The positives impact of Genesis had ranged from artistic inspiration, to environmental but also led to negatives impacts ranging from cultural violence, creating gender roles and intolerance Furthermore, the Genesis creation myth served as an inspiration for artistic expression. One negative created by Genesis led to gender inequality and divison. "The Evangelical Feminist (i.e. Egalitarian) view argues that in Genesis 3, when the fall occurs, sin causes a distinction in the roles of men and women that was not previously there. In other words, in the Evangelical Feminists’ view, prior to the fall, male and female humans shared total equality not only in value but in roles also. The fall, then, is considered the culprit of why today so many people see women as inferior to men”. Prior to fall, Man and women were equal but when the fall happen man and women were now divided which led to a justification unequal treatment and limitation on women’s roles in most cultures and religions. Another reason Genesis had a negative impact was Violence on women. “Another in-depth study looked at 22 mass shootings since 2011 and found that 86% of the shooters had a history of domestic violence. Thirty-two percent of the shooters had a history of stalking and harassment, and 50% specifically targeted women. Domestic violence fed public terrorism”. Male dominance became so distorted that some will resort to violence to keep that dominance.
