Globalization has caused a rapid change throughout history and is continually reshaping the current world system with the help of technological communication and transportation. Globalization is a broad topic encompassing vast ideas and every single thing that comes into contact on this planet. Its definition varies since people have distinctly different mindsets, belief systems, and approaches to life and living. It’s as though they see the world through two very different sets of colored glasses. (Giaan, p. 1) Globalization has brought massive advantages to mankind which simplifies life however it creates serious impacts to the human society. There are three things that will be discussed in this essay. Firstly, the benefits of globalization, secondly, the adverse effects of globalization and finally the impact of globalization on Pacific government and people and how they deal with it.

To deal with issues evident in Pacific island nations, citizens must uphold their national identity, culture and rights, enforce laws to prevent manipulation of governments by foreigners, import quality products for the wellbeing of the people, maintain highly educated citizens in the country by compensating them well and focus on developing the human resource. Furthermore the Pacific nations should be flexible, learn to handle change, adjust and make improvements along the way. They must open themselves up to international forces as agreed by major economic players to the region- aid donors, international, financial institutions, banks and investors which will make them competent in the globalized
