“The grass dries up and dies, and the flower falls to the ground. But the word of the Lord last forever.” There will never come a time where the word of God will change or come back void. The bible is full of many different messages from God, which are then divided between the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament starts the book off because it was the time before Christ. Being that the Old Testament was before Christ, it consisted of the prediction of the Messiah, and the laws of the Lord being presented and carried through from chosen people. The New Testament reveals who the Messiah is and tells about Jesus’ birth and his walk, it also tells about his crucifixion and resurrection. Although the two testaments are quite divergent, together they complement each other, which is why they are unified into one book.
If something was mentioned in the Old Testament is doesn’t change when mentioned again in the New Testament, in fact it becomes utterly sharp. The word remains the same, there are just more things added to enhance the word, or perhaps show scenarios. One topic which was very significant in the Bible is love. Once you read the bible, this is one

(Psalms 107:8) God so loved the world so much that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life.(John3:16) The first quote was taken out of the old testament, while the second one was taken out of the new testament. Although the first quote mentions that God’s love should bring a person much gratitude towards him, it isn’t until the new testament that the love is proven to be beyond anything what he has done before. It mentions how God gave his only son, which is the most a person can sacrifice, their own child, making this sacrifice for the world. It demonstrated the truth of what God was actually looking to do, allow everyone a chance to experience everlasting
I enjoyed very much all the good points mentioned in your discussion board regarding the Bible. I do believe that, it is important to learn the history, meaning and behind God’s plan for the Bible in our regular day lives. In the meantime, I would like to highlight the fact that, nevertheless, the Bible is all God’s Word, but, it is also good, in order to better appreciate, that Christians study other scriptures such as Old and New Testament, Gospel, the Psalms, Proverbs, Wisdom, and so forth. There are differences about the scriptures, for example, the Bible describes God’s word to us, whereas the psalms, are prayers written to God as poetry is set to music. As stated in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable
When talking about the bible it is not important to reach the conclusion on the conversation it is important to start the conversation. Interpretation of the bible needs to be an open mind. Some people are going to think differently of the bible than you; but you have to keep an open mind because there is no right or wrong answer. You also have to forget what everyone else is telling you about the bible to be able to have your view and interpret what you think of it with the opinion of other people. The bible does not only have one view and as Brueggemann states, “The Bible requires human interpretation which is inescapably subjective.”
The Bible is an extensive and challenging book that differs from all of the other books. It consists of several scriptures, that are very different in the scope, purpose and content. Therefore we must read them in a different way compared to the rest of the literature. 2. The Bible was put together in thousands of years.
It shows that no matter what we as humans do, God has a greater plan. Later in the Old Testament, Isaiah 52-53
In the first interpretation, Jesus is a prophet or martyr that was spreading a message that was hard for others to hear (notes 9/21). The second interpretation is supported by the belief that people who are good and lead good lives, will suffer, but in the end, God will vindicate (notes 9/21). The last interpretation pulls from the Exodus story, and Jesus ransoms us from death and humans’ sins (notes 9/21). This interpretation uses the blood of Jesus as payment for how he buys humans back from their sins (notes
It grants us to test, discover and be acquainted with God. The Old Testament was describes as straight up, whereas The New Testament was parallel. The two coincide with each other symbolling the cross. This remarkable belief led to Bono’s next topic of distinction between karma and grace.
Question #1: What would you say is the main theme of the Bible? Answer #1: Jesus Christ is the main message of the Bible, God’s plan for mankind and the Universe, as Bickel and Jantz wrote on pg. 61. The good news of salvation in Jesus Christ.
The textbook says, “This coming deliverer was referred to as the Messiah, which means "anointed one." Messiah is the Hebrew term that is the basis for the term Christ, as in Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament, kings were anointed. When the New Testament refers to Jesus as Christ, it is not referring to Jesus’ surname but to Jesus’ title as messiah, as king.” (Diffey, 2015)Jesus was believed to be the Son within the Holy Trinity: The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
It is explained that God showed a "filial" (parent-child) relationship with Jesus when He declared that Jesus was his beloved son (Mt 3:17) at the time of Jesus' baptism. 4.3 The Birth of Jesus and the Bethlehem Massacre. Dr. Sanders compared Jesus' birth with the circumstances surrounding Moses' birth to show that rather than predestining things, God seems to seek people of faith to carry out his plans although there may be some lacking in public respectability. He also compared the massacre surrounding the time of Moses' birth with that of the Bethlehem massacre (Mt 1-2 and Ex 1-2).
Salvation in the New Testament is viewed as the means through which God provides His people with redemption and deliverance from spiritual death and sin through repentance, as well
There are several literary forms contained within the New Testament, which include the Gospels, the church history, the letters and historical texts, and the apocalyptic literature (Harris, 2014). The first major literary genre, the Gospels were written to describe Jesus’s life and ministry according to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John (Bethel University, 2017). These books were written by the Evangelists to tell the “good news” of Jesus Christ and his work (Harris, 2014 p. 13). From a Christian and literary perspective, these books tell a magnificent story of Jesus, beginning with his birth and ending with his resurrection based from first-hand eyewitness testimonies, but the main focus is the last phase of his life, teachings, and death (Harris,
The Old Testament emphasizes keeping the law to be made right with God. Disobeying God ignites punishment, but God’s grace still prevails. The New Testament of the Christian Bible lays the foundation for a path to redemption through Jesus Christ rather than being bound to the law. The Old Testament of the Hebrew Bible sheds light on God’s wrath when people sin; however, because the Old
In the broad sense, the Bible is the Christian “Holy Book” that acts as a road map for us to live the life God intended for us. It has numerous authors, all ranging a large span of time, interpreting life before and after Jesus Christ. Obviously, with the billions of years that have passed since the time of Creation, the original manuscript of the Bible is not available. There are many different versions, or interpretations, of the Bible spanning from the King James Version, arguably the most accurate to the original, to the Message Bible, which is more of a paraphrased adaptation. The Bible is split up into two sections, The Old Testament and The New Testament that spans from Creation all the way to end of the Earth when Jesus comes back to Earth.
It is essential for followers of Christ to know their Holy Book to avoid falling prey to false teaching. To fully understand scripture one must realize who gives scripture its authority, how accurate it is, its existence with science as well as how it is interpreted. Many of these topics can be seen as contradictory, and maybe there is no clear-cut answer to some of them, but these are topics that stretch ones ' faith and can facilitate growth. Inspiration The Bible, as we know, has gone through significant changes to get to its current stage. The majority of the bible was orally recited because only a few were learned while the majority of the old world was illiterate.
Also by classifying these gospels, people will be able to envision better the timeline of Jesus’ life and which are actual true facts about
