The strengths make the book inspiring and popular such as its adaptation into a movie and the recognition and praise of different readers worldwide. This is a unique and a heart-wrenching story of two lovers. Both are relatable with enlightening words or statements for life. There are weaknesses that seemingly gather my attention, but weakness is just a term which means a need for improvement. The strengths overcome these weaknesses as seen through the book’s success.
His novels are moving and romantic and you just do not want to put them down. Sparks has a way of making the reader feel as if they are part of the story. He makes characters that readers can easily relate to. His novels are constant best sellers. According to Gale Student Resources in Context (2008) readers and critics regard Sparks as “a master in the dramatic fiction genre,” and many consider him as one of the few authors who can write beautiful love stories.
With as serious a face as Newman and Redford, terrific actors with mastery of subtlety, they were so fine tuned that they can speak seriously, sarcastically, or ironically with the same face, and we know which they mean just from their tone or body language alone. But they aren't the only necessary piece in making this a classic. There's also the beautiful look of the film, from Hill's use of lush locales and romanticized vistas, to Conrad Hall's cinematography, which makes the West as real as if we were actually there. The film gives us moments to admire the scenery, which is every bit as enjoyable as the scenes with dialogue or music.
This film teaches me to appreciate the simple things and natural joys in life that we take for granted. It positively sends us the message to enjoy life. It also gives us a message to embrace and love everything that we have. Leonard attitude about life also imparts us a lesson.
The untitled teen of “Confetti Girl” certainly feels neglected and left out. In the exposition, the father tries to find a book for the offspring and she feels unwanted. “Nothing's more important than his books and vocabulary words. He might say I matter, but when he goes on a scavenger hunt for a book, I realize I
Weitzman states in her journal that there are differences between men and women in children’s books which reflect these traditional values of the 20th century. Women, typically mothers are often depicted as “nagging” while men, often the fathers are the ones who take their children to the “circus, park and zoo” (Weitzman, 1143). Very little holds true in Spy Kids, where Ingrid, the mother and Gregorio, the father display very little of these traits. The most “nagging” Ingrid gets is when she tells her children to go to brush their teeth and get ready for bed in the beginning of the story.
One action that led the Little Seamstress to leave the mountain is the knowledge they gave her by reading the books. Another action would be traveling with the young men to the city to watch movies. The final action would be abortion she underwent when Lou is gone. All these actions affected Lou because he thought he is civilizing her for him but then at the end she wants more than him. These actions also affected the narrator because he secretly loves her and she leaves him.
You can feel the strong messages that Lois Lowry wanted to tell us of helping each other out and keeping your will and goal straight in your mind. It is a distinctive and exhilarating story with a unique setting and characters where you can still find connections and your own interpretations. Despite the stagnancy and predictability in some parts, the story itself is fairly enjoyable considering the interesting plot and the connection between the author’s life. The many themes; adventure, love, bravery, compassion and many more fascinate readers and is a highly recommendable book especially for those who have read the previous books in the
even her voice was affected by his condition, and she was not allowed by her mother to paly or do what other teenagers do because her mom was overprotective to her. One of the things Joy begins to deal is when he find her mother's book entitled ' Big Girls Dont Cry'. It’s a book of fiction, but it is very obviously based upon her mother’s life.
High levels of criminal and anti-social behaviour, may provide young men with alternative claims to power, however it can simultaneously exacerbate the levels of social exclusion experienced by their communities. It is not unusual for residents from Limerick's estates to experience discrimination when it comes to applying for work, school places and grinds. Limerick resident Stacey told a typical story: I wanted to get my daughter maths grinds for the leaving and I rang the teacher and she said fine until I told her the address
I believe that the movie version of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird follows the book very well. Compared to the amount of similarities, the differences are almost negligible. When reading To Kill a Mockingbird, one can be fascinated by the differences and similarities between the movie and the book in the portrayal of characters, the layout of Maycomb, and the character outcomes. For me, the characters were just as I imagined them.
The Outsiders is a book by S.E Hinton about two social classes called the Soc’s and the Greasers. The Soc’s are wealthy and powerful people with a lust for power and give no sympathy to anyone, not even another Soc. Greasers are the lower class and are viewed as being thugs and horrible people. Most Greasers care for both themselves and others that are Greasers. The Outsiders have both a book and a movie.
