In The Odyssey, Odysseus has many obstacles he has to face to find his way home, like Polyphemus the cyclops or Scylla and Charybdis. He finally makes it home and has to prove to his wife that he is truly Odysseus. Throughout The Odyssey, Odysseus has important traits that help him survive resulting in his successful trip back home. In fact, his character traits can connect to others in the world, like determination.
Also, they went through hardships before finally being at peace. Odysseus went through his journey in the war and trying to get home and George Washington fought for the United States. George dedicated his life trying to make America better for the people. Meanwhile, Odysseus fought for his City and then went through many battles to get home and bring his broken city to the top again. Another way that they both showed heroism is that they devoted themselves to saving something that mattered.

Choices have to be made, and some of them can affect the rest of your life forever, Odysseus from The Odyssey shows us this by going on a perilous quest to get back home from the Trojan War with all of his men. He ends up at home with all of his crewmates dead, he had to make decisions for his crew, which may not have been the right decisions, but in the heat of the moment, there was only one clear choice for him. You go through tough things every day, which might not be life threatening, but they affect the rest of your life. You have to have the courage to get through every day and all the hard choices. You have to learn how your actions will influence you throughout the rest of your life.
Unfortunately, many of these obstacles proved to be too difficult for Odysseus’s men, and had taken the lives of them all and would have killed Odysseus if it had not been for the help of others. If the gods and others had not given these specific instructions and details for the obstacles along Odysseus’s journey, he might have never made it home, or even may have died along the way. Finally, Odysseus makes it home, but his troubles do not end here, because he has to fight the suitors whom have occupied his home since he’d been away at war. Throughout the odyssey, homer creates many scenes that depict the idea of “love,” defined by the coming together of two things to create life. Homer creates the idea of “love”, mainly through his use of Homeric similes and metaphors.
In “The Odyssey”, Odysseus is a strong warrior, physically strong and intelligent. A great epic hero who is the King of Ithaca, and was part of the Trojan War. The story begins when the Trojan War is over and he travels back to his home to get back to his wife Penelope and son Telemachus.
