Playing baseball is something that would show up on a college application but its importance in my life can’t be overstated. Baseball has taught me many life lessons as well as opened doors that wouldn’t exist without it. The people that I have met, the coaches who have taught me the game, have all had a profound impact on the player and the person that I am today. Baseball has changed my life completely. It has created a strong work ethic because if you aren’t concerned with getting better then someone will pass you by.
The quote, “ Everyday is a new opportunity. You can either build on yesterday’s success or put its failures behind and start over again. That is the way life is, with a new game everyday, and that is the way baseball is.” - Bob Feller. That quote has irony on how to be successful, likewise that baseball has helped me become successful.
The tan sand around the bases with the growing green grass and old worn out cracked dugouts is where I would have been. The Albany baseball diamond was where me and my friends hung out. We would hit old worn out baseballs with the leather coming off of them and run around the aged bases and sleep on the old rickety metal things they called bleachers. The school right beside it also had a playground which we may or may not have supposed to be on. Dairy Dream was just across the street with the delicious smell of hot chocolate fudge and the nose tingling scent of vanilla ice cream that filled the air.
With the herbaceous smell of freshly cut grass and the salty taste of sunflower seeds, a baseball field strikes me as a place where I feel perfectly content. The wonderful home of the sport I have loved as long as I can remember brings a sense of calmness. Baseball fields remind me of great memories, give me a strong sense of confidence, and cause me to strive for a greater future. Baseball has given me a wide range of outstanding memories. The day I was first asked to play travel baseball changed who I am as a person.

Baseball is and always will be America 's pastime. It exhibits what it entirely means to be an American through everything baseball has done for our nation as a whole. Baseball was first invented in the 18th-19th century. It was a variation of another sport being played at the time called "town-ball". Baseball evolved from various sports but mostly borrowed from Town-ball, a game that at the time was one of the most played games of all
Imagine you are sitting at a baseball game eating cracker jacks or at a football game yelling because your team scored or you could be yelling at the refs because they made a bad call. There are many people that love sports but there was also a lot of people that loved sports when they became popular in the 1920’s. Sports have came a long why since then. They have became more competitive, the skill levels have improved a lot, and they are also easier to watch and keep up with because of how far technology has came. Who doesn’t love to watch baseball in the summer?
The World Series is basically the championship of baseball. The New York Yankees have won 26 World Series titles, which is more than any other team. The first woman owner of a major league team was Helene Britton, who owned the St. Louis Cardinals from 1911 to 1917
Imagine, as a child, a girl’s dream is to graduate high school, complete her degree, marry the perfect partner, have amazing children and live the American dream; but then reality came into view and at eighteen years old she is pregnant with no college education and no job security. Or maybe growing up a boy’s dream is to become a professional baseball player; being MVP in little league and continued to be the all-star player through adolescence and college. His confidence is soaring and he knows it is his destiny to become a professional baseball player. Unfortunately, he was not chosen in his first year to be drafted. These are the times when the world seems to be against a dream, and then the dream seems to be out of reach.
