The theme is they came together as a family to survive. They tried to help each other when they were sick and when they thought they were dying. Miranda knew she could help them survive and help them become better. She said “thank goodness that you guys are better” but i'm not sure what page it is on. She could not get help from her family because they were all sick. Another theme is about how they never took each other for granted. Miranda would get in fights but then they would make up. That is what family is about. On page 280 they had Christmas even though they fought they still loved each other. The last theme is they would always fight but they would always make up because they love each other. They would never not talk to each other
