Tyrannical leaders have been present back into the beginning of time, leaders who take full control with absolute power over their people and territory. You’d think that with the changing of times and the advancement of humankind, there would be more civilized ways of ruling. Especially with the creation of the great constitution of the united states of America. This should help the presidents to stray away from a dictatorial and authoritarian rule with the new implication of checks and balances and separation of powers. He overstepped the constitution and the judicial party many times during his rule and this causes there to be many issues in the states. He did this many times and overruled the supreme court even if their argument is final. And in the photo from document B, you can see he is stepping on many bills that were passed, and even the constitution. Also, Jackson vetoed any bills and even more than all the presidents before him, and this shows how he was very tyrannical. This further shows how he overstepped the branches of government and saw himself as an all-powerful leader of the United States of America (US Senate: Vetoes). Another thing that Jackson did during his authoritarian rule he used the spoils system and replaced many of his advisers with friends. The spoils system was choosing only people you knew and putting them into governing positions. This was very bad for the nation as this would not help the nation for the better, and would hurt them more than anything. (TCI 14)3 You may have thought that Jackson being so Assertive and Authoritarian helps him to be such a great leader, but his using things such as military force and forgetting the checks and balances doesn’t help him and made him more of a tyrant than a president. Jackson even the supreme court did not approve of him removing the natives of their land, he thought could do anything as president and even overrule the checks and balances. This goes along with Jackson's bad approach to governing and he completely overpowers all of his peers and believes himself to be all-powerful. Next, the Native Americans didn't do anything to be kicked off the land that they were born on and their ancestors are buried, and Jackson completely invalidated their opinions and moved them all in a matter of 4 months, walking 800 miles to their new home. (Document G) This was very cruel for Jackson to do this as they had been there for hundreds or thousands of years and their ancestors were all there on their sacred land. But, Jackson Completely did not care about the Native Americans and used great military force when the deadline was reaching for the “Trail of Tears” to end. In the end Andrew Jackson because of his force killed over 4000 Native Americans on the journey. This was very cruel for Jackson to do, especially killing this many people on the journey. On top of his killing them, it was very inhumane for him to make them walk this distance and not even give them any help along the treacherous journey. You might have thought that this was all for the better for the states and expanding the new nation, but it was uncalled for him to force
