Millions of animals are tortured and killed every year by laboratories testing various products on them. All types of testing is done on all types of animals. Anything from drug testing and cosmetic testing to organ donations. Most of the world's population does not agree with animal testing. Also only about 8% of the experiments show positive results.
The opposing side would like to say that the animals are treated inhuman and cruelly. This is a lie the scientists have to treat the animals humanely so that the test are reliable . The research animals are cared for by veterinarians, husbandry specialists, and animal health technicians to ensure their well-being and more accurate test. Also the scientists can not treat animals in a inhuman or cruel manner or will be fined or arrested for animal abuse. The scientists have to treat all the test subject humanely because if not and someone gets hurt or dies the scientists will be responsible for the accident.
Puppy mills are a controversial issue that must be outlawed everywhere in the United States for its merciless acts towards dogs. These bitter breeding places should be made illegal for three major reasons. First, these puppies are not given an adequate amount of care. They eventually contract many diseases which are left untreated. Second, many analysis and statistics show that they are located everywhere in an immense amount.
Animal Cruelty Have you ever wondered how much atrocious animal treatments are occurring around the world? The average number of animal abuse cases reported in the media each year is 1,920 according to a study conducted this year by Statistic Brain Research Institute. Moreover, a lot of animals struggle around the globe because they are often beaten, neglected and hunted, which forces them to fight for survival. Helpless animals continue to be exploited by humans and are still constantly being robbed of their lives. Thus, animal cruelty is the killing, exploiting and neglecting the needs of animals that are causing extinction and nonessential suffering.
All these perceptions and myths have only served to malign pit bulls and to make them unattractive to the majority of people in the society. They have also led to high rates of abandonment, torture and abuse of this breed of dogs compared to other breeds (Landau
That is a very very low number because each year approximately 2.7 million animals are euthanized (For veterinarians, Iditarod is all about the sled dogs). Out of those 1.2 million of those are dogs. Some of those does are at kill shelters because they were abandoned. So it’s that also animal cruelty if a dog is healthy so why would you kill them. Also each year 16,000 dogs killed each year in organized dog
Perhaps some people would even be the ones testing on these animals as long as they get paid. Be that as it may, others view these tests as immoral and should be illegal universally. So much so that there are animal activists who protest against the use of animal testing for cosmetics. Similarly, an organization
As I previously stated, 25 out of 28 schools offer alternatives for most or all of their “unethical” courses. In addition, 100% of schools have prohibited the use of terminal labs altogether. These are labs where they allow the animals to die after the surgeries performed in the lab are
I’m here today to talk about a controversial issue that has been around for a period of time, animal testing. Animal testing using animals in experiments with different chemical substances in everything from medical to cosmetic to determine their safety as well as effectiveness . It’s a problem that has existed since the 3rd and 4th centuries BCE with its merciless methods and painful ways of abusing animals for human demands, but now it’s time for it to stop. Our technology has developed significantly since; therefore, such medieval methods of torturing animals are no longer necessary. Researches have shown that each year, over 100 million animals are tortured and killed in American laboratories alone, including dogs, cats and more; this shows how far out of hand animal testing have gotten.
A lot of people just believe pits are mean and can hurt you based off of their past. “That reaction is familiar to many owners of pit bulls, whose aggressive reputation and association with dogfighting have made them one of the least adopted and most euthanized breeds in the U.S., according to shelter operators,” (Source D). Pits should be treated and looked at just like any other dog should, just because their history and background isn’t good doesn’t mean the dogs aren’t. People should do their own research on pitbulls and look into them before they go believing something off the internet that may not be
Because of the culture we live in, medical and cosmetic animal testing is often deemed necessary, no matter how cruel is seems. Until people are ready to eliminate all forms of animal cruelty-- this includes animals that you would eat. Cows, chickens, ducks, turkeys, and goats. All of these animals are routinely subject to worse fates then those of research animals. Crammed in cages, given hormones to make certain body parts abnormally and painfully large, all before being slaughtered.
*Most of all, bad owners are being held responsible for the wrongs they do and teach these animals. * What are the cons of breed specific regulations? It stops families from having bully breeds as pets, people fear the dogs may turn on them or bite children. It stops people from adopting or rescuing a pit bull because they now believe they are not able to be rehabilitated. It promotes the stereotyping of certain dog breeds.
Amelia Keany ACBS 160D1 10/4/15 Do Slaughterhouse Animals Lives Matter? The treatment of animals in slaughterhouses has been an ongoing controversy in the United States. Animal protection organizations and animal activists have continuously voiced their disapproval of the treatment of animals in factory farms and in doing so; have shined a light on the harsh realities of these environments. While it may not be a surprise that an animal activist would want to spend their time fighting for the rights of animals, even the lives of those intended to be cut short. However, animal activists shouldn’t be the only people concerned about this issue.
Animal Testing is proof that humans will do anything to ensure their safety even though it means they have to hurt another. Poor defenseless animals fight for their lives every day to test out products they have no use for. These poor sweet creatures have been taken away their right to live to be caged and mistreated and they can’t do anything but sit there and take it. Day to day, more and more animals are dying at the cruel hands of these scientists. Animal Testing is an act of animal cruelty, because it is inhumane, there are other methods that can be used to avoid harming innocent animals and animals are very different from
Every year, ten to one hundred million animals are tested on. Rats and mice are two-thirds of that total. In addition to that there are 180,000 dogs, 55,000 cats, 500,000 rabbits, a similar number of guinea pigs, and 60,000 primates. With these numbers why still test on animals? Animal testing is wrong and needs to stop.
