Are child soldiers victims or perpetrators? Everywhere around the world children are being locked up in jails, and detained to murders and crimes they were forced to enact. Child Soldiers are victims because they were not offered a choice, except life or death and children are easily tricked by commanders and other adults. The first reason child soldiers are victims is because they are too young to understand. For example, children do things because they know the consequences but they don't fully understand.
They are unaware of their actions, they were manipulated by rebel groups to kill. The child soldiers deserve amnesty, rehabilitation, not to be locked away. Being incarcerated could cause them to become even more dangerous than they already are. Child soldiers need help and attention instead of being forced behind bars and forgotten.
Many people think that these games will not have a major impact in a student or teens life that teens will be more prepared to face the real world an all its dangerous. But I say that yes these games might teach kids that the real world isn 't always that safe but I believe that these games show kids to be violent and reckless. To conclude this is why many parents and government officials believe that kids should not be allowed to play violent role playing games.By not letting kids play these games we can prevent more horrible and tragic shooting involving
These days’ children are causing more harm than good in their communities, and it isn’t their fault. In the Time Magazine article, “Children without Pity” by Nancy Traver, Traver provides examples of corrupted children performing acts that healthy kids wouldn’t do. Their misguided past has affected their present causing them to react in violent behavior. For this reason, I believe that children should not be tried as adults. Kids have only seen and grown up around violence, so violence is what they result to.
It’s been well documented that these children have used guns and war tactics, and committed various illegal and illicit acts of violence. However, what they’ve done doesn 't come with the fact that child soldiers live with rugged conditions, drugs, the influence of others. Even though some people believe that child soldier’s shouldn’t be given amnesty, overall, it becomes clear that these children should be given amnesty because many adults influence their actions, they live in inferior conditions, and children who enlist as child soldiers enlist for multiple reasons other than violence. First, in many areas, it can be clearly seen that child soldiers are influenced by their superiors. No one is ever born dangerous, it’s always their parents and environment that shape a child into who they are.
When the bully takes it too far, the victim snaps and retaliates by fighting him/her back physically or verbally. Not many victims does this for fear of retaliation; nonetheless some victims are brave enough to fight back. The effects of bullying will affect the victim’s future as they grow up to become adults. If this issue continues, he/she has a right to report the incident or fight back their bullies. All forms of bullying, including cyber-bullying, are considered intolerable and criminal at school.
A number of parents have suggested that children should not be convicted as adults for their crimes because children don’t have the same mentality as adults and act without reasoning of the consequences they have for committing such a crime. Children’s brains aren’t fully developed so they have a habit of imitating what they see in TV or from a role model they look up to. Children most of the time are forced to commit a crime by the friends they hang out with and are scared to walk away or say no. In the article “Kids Are Kids” the author states that “Today we are witness to criminal defendants - facing life sentences without parole - who cannot shave, still play with fire trucks, and love to act out scenes from TV or video
Some kids were just getting incarcerated for not going to school. The relationship between crime and deviance has started to become blurred in the eyes of the justice system. No one deserves to be incarcerated for being a deviant but if a crime is committed then they have to be punished for it. Other options than mass incarceration is to put the deviants in special programs to help them and if they do not follow these programs and do what they are told to then you can incarcerate them for violating the rules of their program. Mass incarceration has become a big problem in America with over two million people currently incarcerated, but non violent crimes can be dealt with in other ways and these people do not need to be immediately incarcerated once they do something
Kids think because they’re not adults they can get away with murders but that is not the case. Many kids try and solve their problems with violence and end up making federal crimes. The law was created equally towards everyone and giving people who commit serious crimes a break would leave the streets dangerous. Kids feel that when something doesn’t go their way they want to kill the person or hurt them. Everything has a consequence and juveniles should be tried as adults.
A piece of evidence that reinforces my point is that if you give these children no chance to change or to open their eyes to what they did wrong. A point that the other standpoint could make is that being a child soldier doesn 't mitigate murder among many other crimes made from these children like torturing other soldiers. For example if you were fighting a war with your soldiers and child soldiers were fighting them and torturing them I don 't think you would want those child soldiers in your country. A point that could be made against this is that you can have these children be in rehab to change them to regular people to add to the economy. A piece of evidence that reinforces my point is that some of these children have been turned from rehab and are currently working jobs and sustaining
