We are in an age often referred to as the information age. In this information age, the belief is that information leads to power and success, and impressively complex technologies such as computers, satellites, etc. are available to help in collecting large amounts of information and data. Initially, with the emergence of computers and the means for mass digital storage, we started collecting and saving all sorts of data, counting on the power of computers to help sort through this mix of information. Unfortunately, these huge collections of data stored on structures that are not similar, very quickly became too much. The production of data is expanding at an incredible rate. Expert now point to a 4300% increase in annual data generation by 2020. In 2007 the estimated information content of all human knowledge was 295 exabyte, CSC predicted that in 2020 data production will be 44 times more greater than it was in 2009. …show more content…
The efficient database management systems have been very crucial assets for management of a huge amount of data, especially for effective and efficient retrieval of particular information from a large collection whenever needed. The wide spread of database management systems has also influenced the recent massive gathering of all sorts of information. Today, we have far more information than we can handle, from business transactions and scientific data, to satellite pictures, text reports and military intelligence. Information retrieval is not enough anymore for decision-making. Faced with huge collections of data, we have now created new needs to help us make better managerial choices. As we make a shift from collecting to connecting data, businesses are searching for relationships between data sets to reveal valuable new insight. How do we then sort this huge chunk of data, how do we find related patterns/relationship between these

The simplest data searching algorithm is sequential search. In this method, we insert data into the tables in any order. In order to search for an entry in the table, we perform searching starting from the first element and perform the action sequentially until a matching entry is found or end of table is reached. In this case, the best-case performance is O(1), since matching entry is obtained in the first searching itself. However, the worst-case scenario occurs if the element to be searched is not in the table.
Since then, the computer systems have been upgraded so the information can be compiled and is more readily available (Leung,
The brain will become a greater learner by the things we discover every day. Carr provides examples of the authors in the article. He identifies with the computer in the scene rather than the robotic human and seems to suggest that internet is going to cause us to become more machine-like than machines themselves. How their minds were before and after, how they would for hours but now they cannot.
The reader realizes then that if the intelligence of technology is increasing exponentially it will not be long at all until it exceeds human intelligence. Kurzweil goes on to make his predictions which show that this is happening as he
From pictures to credit card numbers and personal information. We rely on technology to the point where it could kill us and this is what Bradbury explained in Fahrenheit
To be perfectly honest no one knows what the future has in stored for us. Just know it’s something that all of us have to adapt and overcome. However, I do believe the future of learning and collective knowledge will eventually become ALL computer generated versus using teachers or professors to instruct
The power and capability of technology has grown significantly over the past five years. Further research has been done as these advanced technologies has been implemented into numerous things such as, autonomous driving cars, drones, and robots. These devices are taking over tasks that has been done by humans in the past. These devices soon may be smarter than humans in the future as an event called the singularity may occur. Singularity is the "hypothetical moment in time when artificial intelligence and other technologies have become so advanced that humanity undergoes a dramatic and irreversible change" (oxford).
With how advanced today's technology and A.I has become,

— Bill Gates Bottom Line Artificial intelligence was once a sci-fi movie plot but it is now happening in real life. Humans will need to find a way to adapt to these breakthrough technologies just as we have done in the past with other technological advancement. The workforce will be affected in ways difficult to imagine as for the first time in our history a machine will be able to think and in many cases much more precisely than
As big data things continue to grow in this modern era, today we can learn how to predict or assume anything that will happen in the future with data from the past. This studies known as Predictive Analytics. Predictive analytics combine methods from machine learning, data mining and statistics to find meaning or pattern from a huge volume of data. Tom H Davenport, a senior advisor at Deloitte Analytics has broken down three primer models on doing predictive analytics: the data, statistics, and assumptions.
Big Data There are many different definitions for Big Data. SAS (n.d.) an analytical software company describes it as, “a popular term used to describe the exponential growth and availability of data, both structured and unstructured.” Many think Big Data just came into existence but it has been around for years. Banks, retail, advertisers have been using big data for marketing purposes.
Relational Database Management System: This type of database management system that stores the data in the form of related tables. It is a social database administrator which deals with some typical kind of queries and uses SQL for the development of the database. This type of database is a very powerful database as it deals with the relations which makes the data manipulations easier other than any other database. It has the features of data entry, data deletion, and creating of new entry and records etc. the database provides the ease of accessing and maintaining data easily.
Reduce operational costs and increase productivity Track and control vehicles to provide better communication, deliver timely services, etc. Transmit information quickly via satellites and prepare vehicle reports All these features of the tracking system ultimately reduces operational costs and increase productivity. Guide drivers and increase fuel efficiency By careful analysing driver behavior such as speeding, acceleration, braking etc. , you will be able to avoid unnecessary wear and tear of the vehicle, operating, and fuel costs With the help of sensors, you can minimize maintenance costs, machine failures, and thereby prevent vehicle theft Improve cargo security and driver's safety You can identify theft instantly
