Soon after, Trump took to Twitter to insult the GOP candidate. The tweet suggested that Bush would have more lenient views on immigration reform because of his Mexican-born wife, Columba. During another press conference, Trump scornfully told highly respected television anchor, Jorge Ramos, to "go back to Univision" before ordering security to physically removed the Mexican-American journalist. Ramos was trying to ask Trump about his plan regarding immigration, specifically his plan to deport all undocumented immigrants, but Trump said he was being disruptive. He dictated the he had no say, and that security had made the decision to kick out Ramos, but said he agreed with it.
Donald Trump has made it extremely clear that he himself is a racist, so in result his government supporting him will be the same thing. In a recent appearance, Donald Trump has made the promise “to build a “great wall” on the Mexican-American border, and then bizarre promise that Mexico would pay for it.” (Hollywood Life) If he does so, he is discriminating against the Hispanic race, which is racist! If he is allowed to do so it is because our government leaders have allowed him to do so, because it is well known that the President cannot make any moves without government approval. The only way they would support such a decision is if majority were in agreeance with the decision, and if so? They are racist as well.
Altered ideas of manifest destiny, combined with other forces of the time, but the Whig Party opposed expansion, believing that the republican experiment in the United States would fail if the nation grew too large. Politicians from the Northeast felt they would lose political power in Congress if the United States admitted more states into the union. Attempts to expand further into Mexico were put to a stop as racism began to come into play. The abolitionists also opposed expansion, particularly if it would bring slave territories into the union. Pacifists became gravely concerned with the casualties of expansion and opposed its violence.
He viewed the “money men of the East” as agents of evil. ...Bryan directly addressed these supporters of the gold standard, warning that “You[gold standard supporters] shall not press down upon the brow of labor this crown of thorns, you shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold.” While his disapproval of the upper class citizens ultimately derailed his campaign, it also helped him achieve a dual nomination from both the Democratic and Populist
Drew is stating that the flag has given all your rights and the freedom to speak out, yet you are kneeling, and disrespecting it. Brees also believes that he can deliver the message in a different manner. President Trump disagrees with the entire movement of kneeling and is furious. He said, “If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars… he or she should not be allowed to disrespect… our flag and should stand… if not, YOU 'RE FIRED. Find something else to do!” (Doc 6.)
Americans going west ran into Mexican territory, where settlement was cheap. These settlers moved in and outnumbered the Mexicans six to one, because of this, tensions arouse. Although the United States war against Mexico may be viewed as controversial, the war was just due to the Mexican government refusing to hear an offer, the boundary dispute, and the 16 American soldiers killed. The new president of Mexico, Jose Joaquin de Herrera, refused all negotiation with the United States which called for an excusable war. John Slidell, the United States ambassador attempted to obtain a peaceful relation but Mexico thought otherwise.
Either from other countries, or manufacture weapons themselves. For Example, in the article, “The Assault Weapon Ban Should Not Be Reinstated”, the author states, “ Mexico has some of the strictest gun control laws on earth, yet a large number of weapons are smuggled in from other places.” Take this quote for example, mexico has strict gun laws, but there is still weapons getting into Mexico. People in America would do that. Another example from the article “Argument Against Gun Control”, the author states, “This is the newest iteration of the popular talking point that gun laws cannot work because criminals won 't follow them. As Marco Rubio often proclaimed during the primary campaign: "My skepticism about gun laws is criminals don 't follow the law.” People won’t follow laws.
Still unclear whether Villa actually participated in the raid, this action changed the course of politics between Mexico and America during this very difficult time. It was said that Pancho Villa killed the U.S. citizens and ordered the raid because he protested President Wilson for supporting General Carranza as the new President of
Others are infuriated by the idea that these crimes continue without any government backlash, demanding immediate government action in an attempt to reduce gun related crime. Trump has responded by suggesting that congress raises the legal age to purchase firearms and passing a bill to make certain weapon performance modifications illegal to attempt to dissipate the anger among those that are pro gun control, consequently the NRA was displeased with Trump's decision, considering they supported him during the elections. "The NRA doesn't back any ban," Dana Loesch, Spokesperson of the NRA, said. The republicans fighting against gun control are primarily concerned with the idea that if all firearms were made illegal criminals would still find ways to obtain them illegally, while others would not be able to own firearms to defend themselves
The Revolution however, “remained globally anonymous” says Knight. The goal was to drive out the president because they were unhappy with the was he was ruling, which they successfully did. At this time, many new forms of power and government were forming. This caused many revolts in the first place. Most of the Mexican people didn't like the way president Francisco Madero was ruling, and tried to drive him out.
I believe that America was not justified with going to war with Mexico because of how Mexico did not accept the annexation of Texas, Mexico defending their land and US invading it, the last reasons is what Mexico did not accept slavery but Americans ignored this rule. The first reason why American were not justified in going to war with Mexico was the fact that Mexico did not accept the annexation of Texas. Americans decided that Texas was free to annex because of Santa Ana signing the treaty and losing the battles(Document B).However Mexico did not accept this and was in the mindset that their land was still their land (Document D). I feel that Mexico was justified in this sense because what Santa Anna did is like someone making a
Trump is famously known to have an answer and a solution for everything and everyone. Trump proposed a plan to put cameras on mosques. He states, “Our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in jihad” (“The Rhetorical Brilliance of Trump the Demagogue”). Trump claims that his simple solution to keep an eye on muslims will stop the spread of radical terrorism. He implements the idea that muslims are not worthy of being called a “who” instead he calls them a “that” implying they are not humans.
Certainly, Americans were being extremely greedy and wanted more and more land. Was the United States justified in going to war with Mexico? The United States was not justified in going to war with Mexico because they did not respect their laws, culture, and their beliefs. Second of all, this evidence shows that the US was not justified in going to war because it was useless to fight if the Mexicans were going to lose Texas if it was not now, it would be later on. Truly, it was very clear that the Americans won the war because Texas wanted to become part of the US, and the United States wanted to adopt Texas into their union.
An example of this is that Donald Trump is trying to get rid of Muslims from our country. Ever since 9/11, Muslims have been taking segregation problems. That is not fair because not every Muslim is a terrorist. According to CNN “Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump called Monday for barring all Muslims from entering the United States (cnn.com).” These are his plans if he becomes president. He wants to build a great wall to block out all immigrants.
Trinisha Sullivan ELA 8B presidential essay 12/17/2015 Essay #2 Why shouldn 't Donald Trump be president? I believe that Donald Trump should not be president because, Trump has a degree in finance rather than Law, Trumps Ban against muslims and He thinks he can fix the world 's problems. Trump shouldn’t be president because he has a degree in finance rather than Law. I believe that to be president you should have to have multiple degrees like obama who has four law degrees. The president of the united states should be highly educated and if you 're not I don 't believe you qualified to be president Donald Trump also shouldn’t be president because of what he said about banning muslims.
