“Too many criminals purchase guns legally and use them to commit crimes.”Terrorists will be difficult to collect large quantities of firearms if it is banned from selling their firearms, and it is also very hard to launch an attack. So the gun control law pass through is
There will always be people who steal firearms or alter information on background checks to circumvent laws. Gun control legislation would likely create a separate black market for ownership for those who simply want a self-defense option. Most gun-related deaths in the US are from suicides, not homicides. Out of the 10,000+ firearm-related deaths that occur every year in the United States, more than 7,000 of them are suicides. That data point shows a need to improve access to mental health services, community supports, and other resources that can help people in crisis.
Having strict gun control laws would prevent civilians from protecting themselves against attackers and invaders. While there is a call for strict gun control laws it is impossible for the law makers and law enforcers to protect everyone all the time so having this in place prevents a person from his own protection. Gun ownership allows persons to be protected and this is not something gun control does effectively. The Pew Research Center, which is well known for conducting numerous types of research, has conducted many surveys on this issue and one important trend noticed is that there is more support by Americans for gun rights when compared to gun control. Based on interviews done, 52% of the persons said it was more important to protect
We need to think of others and how they would feel if they lost a loved one of if someone lost you. Firearms had good a bad sides that is hard to tell who is on which side. Gun control debate still going on in congress, because the use of guns can be good in a good way and can save our life and harm it. The unsuccessful gun control policy affect many violence in each year, although there are many programs that help us to use guns in the correct way, people still use it as a4 We should only use it when our life is in danger or is considered as a threat. Some don’t think of it this way they think it’s cool to have a gun, just to see that it’s cool.
According to “Gun Control,” these “High-Risk” folk are purchasing firearms because of the flawed system (“Gun Control”). People opposed to gun control argue that taking guns from the citizens does not prevent criminals from getting their hands on guns, as they will just get them illegally anyways. People who oppose gun licensing, mandatory waiting periods and background checks argue that the “normal” gun owners must and do these things, not the criminals. They also argue that criminals are less likely to commit crimes if they think their victims may be armed. Notably, another viable source of information is Bitto, Dana, and Elisa Juliano’s report on the Aurora, Colorado movie theater shooting in 2012.
Since the start of Texas ‘Right-to-Carry’ law in 1995, the murder rate in Texas has averaged thirty-percent lower than before the law took effect (Gun Control Facts). In contrast, since 1950 almost every mass shooting (except for one) has taken place in a state that abides by strict gun control laws (5 Facts About the NRA). As James Earl Jones brilliantly said, “The world is filled with violence. Because criminals carry guns, we decent, law abiding citizens should also have guns. Otherwise they will win and the decent people will lose.” Over the past twenty years gun sales have gone up and homicide rates committed with firearms have gone down by thirty percent.
David DeGrazia proposes a moderate control of guns meaning that only individuals with a need for self-protection be allowed to own a gun and only after a complete course in safety (Hsiao and Berstein). DeGrazia also believes that owning a gun increases the likelihood that a person will be killed in their own home whether accidentally or intentionally (Hsiao and Berstein). The Democratic Party believes that stricter background checks will deter guns from being purchased by the wrong people. That might be true, but will it stop a violent person from committing a
People don’t want guns at all, but there will always be firearms weather they like it or not. The problem we have is the people who have the guns. “Gun control laws are just as old or older than the second amendment, the gun control wasn’t as strict as they are now. There still were laws, people were imprisoned if they were doing something illegal with firearms.” (Should more gun control laws be enacted) Mentally ill people are not allowed to own or purchase firearms. These people can be mentally unstable and end up doing something tragic and not even care.
Following this attack, numerous solutions have been argued and purposed. However, a definite solution still has not been reached and America is split on the topic. The solutions currently enacted focus on guns, yet America still has a serious issue with gun related crime attacks, and fatalities. Solutions should not solely target the actual guns, because guns are powerless without the person who fires the weapon. The solution should not be to take away guns, but to consider the people who have access to them.
Gun control laws create safe environment for criminals rather than other people, because only criminals would get guns if the government prohibit owning guns. Thus, guns are using for self-defense, the advantages of gun using greatly outweigh the disadvantages. Since people are able to protect themselves by using guns when they are in danger, the government should encourage people to own guns instead of prohibiting them. Guns are not the key factor that cause numerous violent incidents, they do not kill people, but people do. The main reason of causing those incidents is people’s morals and values.
