After the Enlightenment and the revolutionary period, ideas were combined, and new ones were formed. Capitalism, democracy, and social mobility became more than just ideals enlightenment thinkers had. Agriculture and labor changed especially. This period of changes was called the industrial revolution. Despite the negative impacts of industrialization, such as pollution and the poor living conditions people suffered in slums, there were many overall successes. Certain successes would include an improvement in the economy, transportation, and the government.
