President Barack Obama once said, “Every single American—gay, straight, lesbian, bisexual, transgender—every single American deserves to be treated equally in the eyes of the law and in the eyes of our society.” For many generations people have created a common misconception that lesbian and gay people are different from them. As a nation, men and women have named lesbians, gays, and bisexuals as sinners and “the devils work.” This causes men and women to believe that same-sex couples are not fit parents. Now is the time to change these thoughts; lesbians and gays are in fact people just like everyone else. These citizens are only trying to live their lives in ways to make themselves happy. The thoughts that children who have gay or lesbian parents are harmed psychologically is not correct because same-sex parents do not change the quality of parent-child relationships and that committed relationships between same-sex couples closely resemble those of heterosexual partnerships.

These children are no different mentally or emotionally. They can get the same grades as other children. They are more likely to be close to their parents because their parents put more effort into their children. These kids have good family relationships will turn out trust others and love unconditionally. Children are more likely to be open minded and accepting towards other. All people should recognize this. The world is changing for the better, it is allowing everyone to be who they want to be. Teach your children that this is also normal and allow them to accept everyone no matter what. Everyone has the same right to be considered equal and to not be discriminated
