Single-gender classes also exist, single-sex education is “the practice of conducting education where male and female students attend separate classes or in separate buildings or school” (“Single-sex education”). The act of teaching in a single gender environment was typical before the 20th century, especially in secondary education and high education. Researchers have long been debating whether single-sex education is more effective than mixed gender education.
