Are You Really Ready to Go Abroad? Qu 'avez-vous besoin de savoir pour étudier à l 'étranger? Those words might sound unfamiliar, but language, indeed, is one factor in deciding if students want to study abroad. The French question translates to “What do you need to know about study abroad?” and answers that usually come up are places, cost, and experimenting with new culture. However, after looking through more arguments about studying abroad, many concerns can be found and classified. Studying abroad can be classified under decisions to consider before studying abroad, problems or benefits of students who came back from studying abroad, and within these categories, smaller divisions can be made. Many of these topics are not well-known,but should be considered because deciding to study abroad can be a major change in a person’s life. This topic also falls under the places to go category. With attacks happening, colleges are concerned about sending their students abroad. However, for colleges who still supports studying abroad, safety measures are taken. From a peer-reviewed magazine and website, Chronicle of Higher Education wrote “colleges are establishing dedicated positions to deal with international risk management." This quote puts forward the argument that studying abroad can be dangerous, but its counter argument shows that students are given lessons on how to manage situations if they were to arise. From these two arguments, the students and parents can pull out that to decide if studying abroad is beneficial or not, they will have to first decide whether its safe to travel or
