During the Presidential election of 2016, Donald Trump was marked the 45th President of the United States. Thus, that has meant change. The U.S. immigration policy has become a huge a renowned topic for the past couple months after Trump’s election. Through the research I’ve dug through, I first thought the current policy was absurd being a democrat with liberal views, but after digging up more research and the reasons behind the current policy, I’d have to agree with the current immigration policy that various majority Muslim countries have been banned from entering the country and the idea behind building a wall between the United States and Mexico. In an article from Rachel del Guidice, she noted that, “…Trump’s dedication to enforcing immigration law is one of his significant accomplishments as he nears his 100th day in office…” (2017).
I’m not one to follow the news closely through

I believe that if refugee seeks to come into the U.S and has family in the U.S. either American-born or family with green cards, they should be able to live in the country legally and to hold a job. “People become much more productive when they move from countries where they have little or no opportunity to use their talents, to those where they can be more productive” (Somin 2017). Many of employers in the U.S now, have various immigrants working in successful industries that have kept the U.S economy churning. Mexican restaurants for example. Their restaurants are booming with success and I cannot picture my interest in their food, let alone the businesses alone shutting down. By only allowing the immigrants into the country that already have family residing in the country, still limits the amount that the current policy wants to permit. Thus, this still meets the current policy goal and if this was permissible, the public would be happier and more supportive of the government’s
The term "alien" has taken on a negative connotation over the last few years. With the issue of immigration reform so prevalent in the U.S., immigration-reform advocates are fighting to remove the term from federal documents so as not to offend immigrants. Castro leads the way Rep. Joaquín Castro, D-Texas, introduced a bill that would effectively remove the term "alien" in any and all federal documents and replace it with the more politically correct term "foreign national. " The name of the bill is the Correcting Hurtful and Alienating Names in Government Expression Act, also known as the CHANGE act.
In the beginning of the book, it’s about the government debate whether is a proper idea to keep the illegal immigrant since they are using the welfare from US government. After the debate, illegal immigrants was prohibited in US and they cannot receive any welfare due to their identity. To continued, Oscar and Cristian are looking to attend to university or college after they graduated from high school, but they cannot afford for the tuition since is too expensive. Luis decided to work, so he has two jobs which are filing paper at a Social Security office and work as a chef in restaurant. In April 2005, Joshua Davis writes an article about Fredi’s team in Wired that inspired a lot of people to donate money for these four teenagers to continue
It is unargueable that the government needs to control and protect the country and its bordlers from intruder, unwanted and unathourized into the country with. Majority believes that the current US immigration laws the rich. For the minorities, the current US immigration laws serves a road block to many that seeks a better life dues to one reasone or another, either for themslves or their families. Today, taking a look the process required to be admitted into the United States alone discourages so many from even attempting.
One of the biggest controversies in the United States today is immigration. This is a huge topic in the country today because there is numerous people on both sides of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform that present great evidence about it. This reform is impacting millions of immigrants that are working and living in the Unites States today, but it also affects the people that are citizens of the United States. In this paper I am going to present arguments from both sides of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform, then come to a conclusion on which side I choose to place my opinion. There are a lot of worthy things that this reform is going to accomplish for immigrants in the United States.
Throughout the last twenty years, the United States government has failed to establish equitable and lasting immigration reform. Different attempts such as the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals established in 2012 serve as examples of incapability to grant true reform to undocumented communities. This infectivity is a cause of polarized congressional leadership. Both sides argue for their personal views rather than alleviating the status of many migrant communities. The inadequateness of immigration reform can be explored through several aspects.
Pathos and Ethos Ever since the terror attack that occurred on September 11, 2001, United States of America put a major stop on these refugees flying from their home countries and taking refuge in the United States. United States, ever since the incident that struck our American hearts with sadness then turned into anger, the distraught Americans declared “war on terror”. This war made any refugee coming from these wars torn countries to apply to be able to come into the country and made the process lengthy to get pass the Homeland Security. Donald Trump, our president, a successful businessman, and television personality, has come out as an advocate of rejecting all these refugees until the “war on terror” is over. This reform, proposed by
I believe that Huntington's statements are more generalized than stating facts. On the other hand, Foley makes a valid point of saying that most Mexican immigrants enter the United States just to work. Not "abusing" the welfare system as Huntington thought it was one of the reasons for illegal and legal entry. And how most American would like that immigration would stop because it will make the economy "better". Or how Donald Trump wants "America to be great again" if there was no Hispanic people living in the United States.
Why did decide the United States imperialize land that wasn 't theirs after european immigrants came to America? Once immigrants came into the U.S there became less jobs available and caused some people to go bankrupt. People born in the United States looked for more land and jobs, so they decided to migrate west. The more immigrants that came into the U.S more people tried to find better places to live and. If there wouldn 't have been immigrants coming to America we would not have as much diversity as we do today and there could still be some land that Native Americans would still have today.
There has been many hated debates since the 20th century held by Americans. Until now we still have many people who are either against or in favor of immigration. Many immigrants who come to the U.S go through a lot of obstacles on the way. Some die, get robbed, get lost, etc. They leave their country not knowing when they will be back but on the other hand there are immigrants who come here to not do really good stuff.
For many years thousands of immigrants, legally and illegally, from around the world come to the United States. They all have different means, and many believe that coming to America is the best place to be apart from their country. How does immigration cause problems? There is definitely a dilemma with the immigrants since it is already quite difficult to get a job. One of the most major to why people in general are homeless is due to psychological issues.
Immigration reform has been a big issue for our country in recent years. Many U.S. citizens claim that immigration is harmful to the US economy. In just 20 years, we have seen the average number of immigrants per year jump a staggering 20%. This has lead to the biased opinions we see towards immigration today. Currently, our country is not receiving any benefit from immigration.
Congress, I am writing to you due to the new immigration laws that you have been creating, which is creating a strain on U.S. farmers. Americans are not interested in taking the agriculture jobs that are available, which forces farm owners to hire immigrants to be able to staff their farms. Without immigrants, there would be no one doing the farm jobs, which would cause a lot of farms to cut down their amount of food produced or completely shut down. However, it does not seem like a few farms closing down here and there would be a huge thing for the overall good, but what is not normally discussed is how farm jobs actually support other jobs, actually 3 to 4 jobs on average (Jacoby). With the decrease of farms and farms job, other Americans
Imagine starting your whole life over in a new country, escaping all the persecutions from your own country. Your trying to live the American Dream, but then, The American Dream gets taken away because of laws being changed. Immigration laws should not be reformed because changing the already existing laws can affect thousands of immigrants in America, and also because it would punish those who follow the laws. Changing the already existing immigration laws can cause chaos.
Illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay in the U.S.A. and become citizens because they are heavy workers, want a better life and most importantly they contribute to the U.S. economy. Immigrants simply want to obtain an opportunity to live and work in this great country. With all this in mind it is clear that they deserve a path to citizenship. Countless people say illegal immigrants are damaging the U.S. economy; however, they are contributing immensely by paying their taxes.
When it comes to the question about “what is the solution”, opinions start flowing, but to the best of my knowledge, I see that the solution will never be one-sided, in other words, I see no perfect solution from the common options. Blocking the refugees would fail – but to open doors without limit is the most reckless decision. The only solution is treating the root causes in migrants’ countries. “When solving problems, dig at the roots instead of just hacking at the leaves.” ―
