World War II was a very brutal war that lasted from the years 1939-1945. There are a ton of different heroes from World War II. There is a variety of reasons as to why they are considered heroes and where their home countries are from. General Ulsterman Robert Blair Mayne, who was otherwise known as Patty ,was one of these heroes along with Bernard Montgomery. During the war there were also many sacrifices taken. Franklin D. Roosevelt, was the president of the time and he was also a World War II hero. World War II started in the year 1939. The war started whenever Germany invaded Poland. This caused Britain and France to declare war on Germany September 3rd. The war included almost the entire world. Some of the countries involved include Germany, Italy, the United States of America, and Japan. This war caused around fifty million people to lose their lives. Somewhere near hundreds of millions of people ended up being injured or wounded.

On the German side of the war, Hitler was the leader in charge. Hitler kept his guard up and kept a close eye on his enemies. He kept two fronts of the war after he broke off attacks with British allies. Meanwhile, Bernard Montgomery, was a leader who helped send British troops back to where they were before. He forced them to backtrack their steps. To do all this They received a lot of help from America who sent care packages. Benard is really a true hero for this brave act that he did. Franklin D. Roosevelt or sometimes known as F.D.R. was the president of the United States. Franklin was president during World War II and he helped America as they joined in on the action. Roosevelt was close friends with another hero Winston Churchill. Together the men both helped citizens after World War II. Roosevelt lead America into the war as a result of Japan bombing pearl harbor. Him leading American in and through the war was a very heroic
