The Role Of A Hero In Homer's Odyssey

Through these couple examples, he turns down two goddesses and let his men die so he could return home. Odysseus is a perfect hero and has all of the characteristics it takes to be one. He cares about his men deeply and wants the best for his men. One thing that makes him special is his mind, he is very clever in getting home.

Also not trying to be someone else because a hero knows they can’t be anybody else they can only be themself. The idea is a hero is not a person who has super power but is a regular person like you and me, and they know who they are and are proud of them

Both Beowulf and Superman travel far and wide to defeat villains, save people, and encourage others. Their appearances are similar as well. Superman and Beowulf are dry, muscular, and strong. In fact, most people during their time would have considered them handsome. Both Beowulf and Superman have supernatural qualities.

The action, the new heroes, the powers, and cool gadgets all make it not get old. Because it’s not getting old! Every movie adds something or someone new to your mind bank of imagination.

What would it be like to live in a degenerated society without heroes? Over time, without heroes, there wouldn't be anyone defending human rights. Everyone has human rights, and this includes age, religion, and language. A hero doesn’t have to have these characteristics nor do they have to be a certain person to become one. There are numerous amounts of characteristics a hero can possess.

With both of those qualities in his arsenal, he led his army in the trials bestowed upon him. In the end, being a hero means taking the right actions at the right times. This idea is elucidated by the quote, “Heroes are heroes because they are heroic

Anyone who possesses any of the above mentioned assets is a hero in my mind since they tend to look past the consequences and accomplish what they think their aim is. Before, my heroes contained of Batman, Hulk, Spiderman and Superman. What came across to my mind is that throughout my awareness a hero helps people, and this was what super heroes ever did. Well obviously, yes, this is what heroes do, he or she helps when in need, but what I could not understand was that they don’t need super powers to be heroes. I wasn’t able realize how somebody can help a soul spiritually, all I ever saw was the physical help similar to comics or cartoons that I read or watched.

As a society what do we define as a hero? Often, when we hear the word hero, we automatically think of someone who has accomplished great feats of strength or sports, such as a superhero, or a basketball star. Little kids look up to them with awe and amazement, but they are not the ones deserving of that honor. Individuals who truly do deserve the title are those who are the polar opposites of sports stars. True heroes work out of the kindness of their heart, not out of motivation for their paycheck.

However, Batman has characteristics that stump all accomplishments done by Odysseus. Many people consider Odysseus to be an ideal hero because he has accomplished many feat. Being the main protagonist in The Odyssey,

Heroes usually have super powers and are constantly saving people. But it takes much more traits than this to be classified as an epic hero. Some characteristics of an epic hero are supernatural help, leaving on a journey in which proves himself, and they are sometimes honored after death. In The Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus shows many traits of an epic hero.

From my personal experience I have felt welcome and felt encouraged to be a better person than I ever thought possible. As have the past, present, and future cadets. A legend to a great many people would be somebody who has strength and has gambled or yielded his life for others. To others a man that has found or accomplished something exceptional. In antiquated Greece a legend was viewed as a man frequently of heavenly family, celebrated for his courageous achievements and favored by the divine beings. In the epic "The Odyssey" Odysseus shows every one of the characteristics of a legend, for example, his intelliegence, quality, devotion, and strength. ​First a critical quality that an epic legend must have is knowledge.

A hero makes people better. It doesn’t take a lot for a person to be considered a hero. If a person works hard, motivate people to do their best, and is involved in their community, they are considered a hero. Every hero should have an positive impact on a person

The precept I choose is “Everyone deserves a standing ovation because we all overcometh the world.” – Auggie Pullman This precept means that everyone should be awarded in their life. Many times in life the people who do incredible things are awarded, but the people who do small things and truly try their best are often not recognized. What Auggie meant is that every day people do great things. Perhaps some may seem very insignificant to us.

They are the ideal person, willing to sacrifice it all for a greater good. However, superheroes aren’t real, merely a work of fiction. But there is such thing as a real life hero although they seem rare. These heroes haven’t leapt from the pages of storybooks, no, they were all born and shaped just like you and me.
