In today’s fast moving world, there is an increased amount of interdependence among nation states. How countries deal with each other, and the roles of countries in the international arena is greatly influenced by globalization, because of this realities of international politics are always prone to change. One vital factor in international relations is the balance of power between states. Starting from the early 20th century the world experienced a multipolar and a bipolar international system. Meaning, that there was more than a single great power and no given nation-state was any more powerful than any other nation. After World War two, many of these major powers declined and the world was left United States and the Soviet Union. Starting …show more content…
However, formation of international non-governmental organizations allows politics to take place above the state level. Like, trade and communication, political activities at a global level has helped the United States in maintaining their power. Important decisions concerning the whole world are made by such organizations like the United Nations, World Trade Organization, NATO, International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and several others. Most of these organizations were founded during the aftermath of World War 2 and United States played a major role in conception of these organizations. In addition to that, U.S is the main financer to several of these organizations as well allowing U.S to have a great influence on them. They are able push their agendas and do what is best for the U.S through many of these organizations. Several of these organizations work in line with U.S foreign policy. A lot of times, U.S is also able to avoid following and complying with international agreements and treaties made within these organizations. For example, U.S was one of the proponents of the treaty on non-proliferation of Nuclear weapons. However, they themselves have violated some terms of the treaty while forcing other signatories to abide by it. Moreover, U.S has violated several resolutions of the U.N without facing much consequences. But if it the same is done by another country, it does not go without consequences. This proves how influential U.S is within these organizations. Since, today’s world is globalized it is impossible for any country to be in complete isolation without dealing with any international organizations. Due to the structure and organization of the international system, all countries are forced to deal with them. Hence, indirectly through these organizations U.S able to achieve their goals and maintain their status as a global super
Post World War II America was one of the most militarily active periods in American history, having been involved in three wars, spanning roughly from 1947 to 1992, in order to stop the spread of communism. Overall, the United States permanently broke its previous isolationist policy in an attempt to promote democracy throughout the world; however, the wars proved to have serious negative effects on America. America was impacted by the military involvement in the Cold War, the Vietnam War, and the Korean War. Shortly after the end of World War II, America and Russia, the two super world powers emerging from the war, divided various parts of Eurasia—namely Germany and Korea—between themselves. Following America’s decision to maintain world

The United States is a major world power and strongly influences other countries in many ways. The United States has been involved in foreign affairs since the birth of its existence. They have been involved in all sorts of things such as helping with financial support, to helping rebels take over the country to establish a new form of government. There have been periods of time where the United States has completely altered the way a country is today.
Entering WWII brought America out of its depression and into the complicated world of political affairs. The change of U.S. foreign policy from the end of the First World War to the end of the Korean War changed drastically as the U.S. became a stronger world power. From isolationism to encouragement of interventions, it can be said that the U.S. reversed its policy within a few decades. The shift in its policy can be attributed to the international wars that got the U.S. involved with world politics, involvement of U.S. presidents in the world affairs, and the growing power of other foreign powers, such as the Soviet Union. Wars are the one of the central factors in international affairs.

This organization that was started by the United States was created due to the Soviet Union spreading communism throughout the world. There were many American social issues before the treaty was signed, such as the Cold War. In 1949 the influence of communism expanding sparked the United States and the other 12 Western nations to start this organization. The Soviets really were feared by many due to communist nations in the Eastern Europe coming together and creating a rival alliance, and signing the Warsaw Pact. This rival alliance impacted America and their alliances because they needed to figure out
World War II was one of the most deadly wars, sacrificing millions of people in it’s proceedings. Ever since the day that America became involved in World War II, December 7 1941, it presence has been known and exemplified. However, Americas influence on the world following World War II is even more present, demonstrating the power that America has. The three main reasons for the influence that America had are that we as a country showed power even when most of the men went to war, we were one of the founders of the United Nations, and that the balance of power shifts to the United States. America showed the world that we can be powerful even when not necessarily prepared to go into a time of war.
Therefore, this paper is designed to illustrate reasons why the UNSC should be reformed. The first and foremost factor to why the UNSC should be reformed is because the veto power used within the council only revolves around the permanent members’ interests. By 1990s, one

national politics Adam Watson’s Evolution of International Society gave a new dimension in the understanding of international relations (IR). He deeply studied comparatively the formation of international society and political community of the past which has evolved into the modern world system in his ‘Evolution of International Society’. Unlike Kenneth Waltz views of anarchy as the only system in IR, Watson says there are two systems viz. anarchy and hierarchy. In between these systems is the hegemony which defines the contemporary IR.
As the famous saying goes, “The strong do what they will while the weak do what they must," so let it be with the counties of the world and the role they play in International Politics. Eurocentrism is a concept that places Europe at the centre of the world. Assuming that it is self containing and self representing, the entire world is looked at with Europe at the centre. Eurocentrism bias leads to an illogical understanding of International Relations and makes politics and judgement to incline in the favour of the powerful. In this essay, I will critique the Eurocentric nature of International Relations theory and world politics.

Brad Conley Prof. Greg Young IAFS 1000-1004 Though the international system today shares many aspects of realism, neoliberalism, constructivism, and marxism, neoliberalism is the predominant principles under which the international system operates. With the formation of several influential international governmental organizations (IGOs), the world has become a much safer place. Though neoliberal ideas draw from realism in the fact that the international system is in anarchy, neoliberalism dictates that the world is in a form of structured anarchy, perpetuated by the IGOs that governments partake in. By strengthening webs of interdependence, countries find the ability to interact amicably, and build up reliance upon one another. As countries
The aim of this assessment is to reflect on what I have learned this semester regarding the module of Business in Global Context; from the lectures with the professor, the case studies done in class and the three previous patchworks that we worked on. We have learned that there are different internal and external components that affect the business environment, from corporate social responsibility to cultural and institutional framework; organizations must take into consideration all the factors related to the different parts of its environment. For the topic discussion, I will be discussing globalization and how it has affected the global business environment along with the key aspects and the different point of views regarding it.
