Melba in Warriors Don 't Cry fought for her education day and night, inside and outside of Central High School. Melba was constantly threatened by segregationists during her time at Central High School while she was fighting for equal rights. Equal rights became an important issue to Melba throughout Warriors Don 't Cry, and she also became a face of change to her people.
