The yellow wallpaper The short story The Yellow Wallpaper takes place in an old, decrepit house. It follows an ill woman, and writer, who is forced to not write. As she slowly goes insane being trapped inside a room with horrendous wallpaper. She's there because her husband believes it is best for her and will let her clear her mind and relax. However his intentions can sometimes be unclear. Because of the sometimes unclear intentions, it can sometimes seem like her husband is driving her insane. I disagree though, he doesn't know what it's like to be a writer, so he doesn't know how vital it is for them to put their thoughts down. He just wanted to go on a vacation of sorts away from the big city, but it definitely didn't turn out well.
