Women are taught that being a respectable classy lady is exemplar and anything else is being a slut. People believe that women can either be pretty or smart, or sexual or studious. They do not believe a woman can be both. But, women can be both smart and pretty and know how to party and club and be studious and productive. Women are more than they are viewed as by society. Women are complex human beings who cannot be compartmentalized. All women have different characteristics, emotions, thoughts, feelings, dreams, and desires. Women are not simple so they cannot be categorized. Women are reduced to their sexuality. Society views a woman 's worth as their sex lives and how they present themselves in terms of dress. Women are never viewed by the …show more content…
Guys who slut shame look cool and get a lot of attention. It is okay for a boy to slut shame because he does not get judged but he destroys a girl. Females are supposed to be empowered, confident, and open about their bodies. Girls should not be afraid of their bodies or their sexuality. Boys should not be predators. Asking young girls to take sexy photos, or secretly taking sexy photos or videos, and sharing them widely is predatory. Mothers need to teach their sons how to respect women. They need to teach them that all girls deserve respect. Boys do not have a right to any girl or her body. Just because a boy has a crush on a girl and she does not like him back, does not give him the right to bash her or degrade her. Just because a girl had sex with someone does not make her a slut or available to anyone else for sex. Boys should not ask girls for sexy photos or secretly photograph or record a girl in a private situation. If a girl does take and share a sexy photo, boys should not share it because no girl deserves this. If a boy disrespects a girl, that makes the boy less of a man and does not make the girl stupid. If someone disrespects a girl and another person laughs to make him feel cool, that makes both boys less of a man. If people are slut shaming a girl, people should not join, but instead try to stop it because it is …show more content…
Even girls still judge other girls for the mistakes that boys make when they should be standing in the side of women because they never know if that situation is going to happen to them. We live in a rape culture where victim blaming is always going to prevalent and seen in our world. No matter what a girl does if it involves a man versus a female, the man will always win and the female will be blamed for a wrong done to her. In our society, we have to keep girls safe from boys who are predators. Our society blames girls and tells them to be safe, but they should expect better of boys and a change in our culture. Boys cannot always be excused. Boys are supposed to be dominant but it seems as if though women are stronger because they go through more and boys are always being excused for everything. The law and society is always in the side of men. We have grown so much as a country and women have more rights but our roots of sexism and rape culture will never be gone. It seems as if though women have fought so hard just to take tiny steps. On the other hand, a man can take tiny steps and gain so much. Men are protected from all the dangers of the world including the dangers they have created
When boys get injured, they have to act like they are not hurt or upset. If boys cry, they are told they sound like a girl and are told to grow up, but it’s ok for a girl to break down and cry. If a boy or man acts like they are bothered by something, say a breakup, they are told to act like they are not in pain or that they are ok and not upset about the breakup. When boys are growing up, they are told by society that if they like fashion or like doing “girl things”, they act too much like a girl.
Why must women go through this? Women have suffered the fate of being held second class by most men for ages. Throughout times women’s rights that have come around and are better, but there are still many trials they must go through today. People watch every day as women get put down by men and even other women at times that say, “that’s just how things are.” When will these types of false accusations based off stereotypes come to an end?
For multiple years, young boys and men have struggled to keep up with society's mental image of what a man should look, act, and be like. From the minute they are brought into this world, boys mostly always already have an idea of what they should be as they get older. They are brainwashed with the mentality that they have to be this rugged, strong, fit persona. And most boys will do anything it takes in order to achieve that attribute to feel some sort of acceptance by society. Having these ¨manly¨ attributes is not always what determines a boy from having the label of being a man.
The most terrifying thing is that this isn't just in one country—even a quick Google search will prove that this phenomenon occurs worldwide. When men and women are raised to believe that they are unequal and taught to act a certain way, this is the result. After all, when men are taught their entire lives that they're the superior sex, it "leads to the direct or indirect exertion of power in society against women" (Raselekoane et al. 2). Shouldn't we expect more from our society? Half the population shouldn't have to be constantly terrified that every time they go out, they might not make it back
it 's so immature that the girls from the hoop up culture have sex without think about all the negative consequence. furthermore the girls are not having a bad reputation, but also they can get STD 's or undecible
Women are viewed as subordinate to men and are treated more like property instead of intelligent human beings.
Double standards exist everywhere you go. In society, women and men are held to different standards. Whether it comes to strength, leadership, or appearance, they affect everything and everyone. These contrasting principles also apply to sexual fidelity. Often, men are praised and looked up to to having many sexual relationships.
Just because you are a woman doesn't mean you can’t do the same things as men. A reason why this is important in today's society is because women are still struggling with comparison and
Women have found themselves at the bottom of society’s hierarchal pyramid for eons. Even though females make contributions that prove vital to the world’s function, they are still regarded as the weaker link. The female plight of constantly facing debasement is a pawn used to ensure compliance. It is a common notion that if one is demeaned enough, he or she will conform to the suggested persona. Society tests this notion through its treatment of women.
Women are not characterized as sexual objects, and do not have to identify as feminine, sexual, high class, normatively beautiful, attractive to men, or any other identities, if one feels they are a woman then they are a
Men have given the media this unrealistic image that women cannot fend for themselves, cannot do hard jobs, or cannot get as far in life as a man. Even in jobs, though a woman and a man may be in the same position, women “earn just 74 cents for every $1 a man earns” (CNNMoney). This is truly unfair, yet men today still say that women are “equal,” though it is obviously false. Women today, though they have more rights than in the 1800’s, are still not in the place we need to be in ranking with men. Women are still abused, sexually harassed and mistreated more than men because of their sex.
We teach boys to man up, and we teach them not to show emotions. (CITE) As (NAME) said, we feminize things like relationships, emotions, and expressing oneself. Then we devalue the things we feminize. This not only sends an extremely negative message to boys being told to "man up", but we also allow for a hierarchy between genders to grow.
With the rise of civilization also came the rise of patriarchy-based societies and the slow decline of the importance of women in society. For the longest time the history of the world has been written by men who have been the head of the patriarchy and have forgotten the role of women in history. It is important to realize that women do in fact have a place at the table with men when it comes to importance in history, and are not just the ones cooking and serving the meal. It is women who tasked with raising the next generation. By looking at women of the past, people of the future can learn and evolve to fight oppression and gain their own power.
There are many negative beliefs towards the male gender because of the stereotypes society believes in. When people hear about a news of a rape incident between both genders, they automatically assume the female is the victim and the male is the offender. They make this assumption based on real statistics - since 99% of sex offenders are male and over 80% of the victims are female (sapac.umich.edu). For this reason, parents with daughters feel skeptical when their daughters is around a male since they believe she might be forced into sexual conducts. Society believe when males have a high tendency to feel sexual pleasure, they can not control themselves and will force another individual into sexual conducts in order to satisfy their urge.
Girls get judged harder because everybody in there mind has this picture of the perfect girl in their mind that they think we as girls should live up to be. But we cant so we do things that make us seem like the perfect girl and it gets use judged harder than guys. People can judge me how ever they want they can have this picture in there mind of the perfect girl they will never find her. However when they judge me the would think I ams slut because all my friends are guys and only like three are girls.
